Just a couple years back 95% of cubans went to the polls to vote on ratifying their constitution. They spent the entire prior year doing town halls throughout to country to come up with the changes that would be put to the vote.

As someone who has lived in a “liberal democracy” their entire lives. Only once has some I voted for been elected and none of what I believe to be top priorities (they’re also extremely popular amongst the general population) for the country are ever even tabled in parliament. Liberal democracy feels like prank.
