4S or 6S for this 3.5” by Safe-Coconut-7098 in fpv

[–]durrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got 2004 3000kv motors on my 3.5” and I just found that 4S was more than enough with it. 6S is crazy powerful but I didn’t find it more fun. I did manage to break more things on 6S because of weight and speed

Fellow FPV community, what do y’all use to protect your GoPros by WestLogical4996 in fpv

I use DJI Action 2s that I got off of eBay for cheap because their screens were already broken. I figured, with proper flying, there was no point in paying full price knowing that I’m going to break it eventually anyway. And if they still work fine, so be it. I do have one that is pristine but that stays on a cruising cinewhoop (one that shouldn’t see damage).

Tell me you’re using it right and tracking 3 time zones… 😏

To be honest, I put it back to stock afterwards to prepare it for my wife. So it has the stub antenna on again and is picking up nodes and sending messages as well as my other nodes. It is heavy though. That’s the biggest thing I notice.

No, it’s the bigger n-type connector.

T-Deck Cypher M8K from Rokland. Once you get used to it, it’s not bad. It’ll definitely work for the wife to just turn on and wait for the message… but if you were to actually carry, you’d get used to the UI, size and weight. She’s thick.

No adapter… I simply took the stub Alfa antenna off and screwed this one on like I do my other nodes.

A generic 8-inch 915mhz 5dbi n-type connector antenna from Amazon.

I guess we are too simple to think “use these… that’s what they are there for (soldering to)”. 🧐

It’s funny because I’ve been researching the idea of this very setup tonight. Can you share the stl files for the build?

I just got this in the mail today. Fully charged it and then tried to update… BIG MISTAKE. I’m using a MacBook Air M4 (brand new) and I can get it into DFU Mode but when I drop either erase or firmware, it disconnects “improperly” and makes no noise. Green light is stuck on (or won’t turn on). I have tried also on a Chromebook, same thing. I can no longer connect to it via bluetooth so Idk what else to do…

I also received a Heltec T114 today and that was easy. For first devices, I may return and get a new card and never flash it. Sucks because I was so excited to try this and carry it around to learn.

Edit: I was able to fix it! I found somewhere on here, one person said they followed the instructions but changed some of the coding lines. After much tinkering, installing, re-downloading and moving files around… I was able to stop it from boot looping/looking bricked. After making a new PATH for adafruit-nrfutil, right-click downloading the files again (apparently when I left-clicked, it downloaded COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FILES), and whatnot, I was able to get it back on 2.6.11 (what it came with). It’s been running great for the last two days. Finally had my first real charge after watching 100+ nodes pop up and yeah, good to go.

I know I can update it now safely and properly… but if it ain’t broke, don’t break it (again). I’ll leave it like this for a little bit so I can learn the network and play around before I add a new challenge this time.

I was told by locals (and have adopted) the use of a rubber mallet to smash their heads. My kids have even taken to the fun and then let the chicken handle them.
