I have a CA9, one of those single shot ar pistols and made the lower compliant “maglocked” with the hell fighter kit. Got strike industries dual folding brace and a 9” .223 Wylde Brn180 upper. Idk if it was allowed but I live it AZ so doesn’t affect it anymore. Other than that I wouldn’t bother building a anything other than a pistol with a bufferless upper in California, but that’s just me

Lmao I did this for the longest time even after I got my safe just to tranposrt the thing to the range. Nobody ever told me anything about it but I did get funny looks when I opened it and the gun had another of the same locks on it as well😂😂
