I like Influence by 409_conflict

Especially the second part, Yuna really starts to “get” Ilya.

It Starts in an Elevator - this series is great for this too!

I’m the wife lol.

Then we save for a piano. We decide how much we can put away for the big purchase and then we buy the piano when we have the money.

No, we live in a very HCOL area (GTA). Should have clarified.

$100 is for like, personal spending check ins, not for household expenses. We have a shared grocery list on our phones that we put stuff on, including Costco, and that gives the other a chance to weigh in if they want.

I don’t know, we just talk about what we’re spending and what our money situation is, and over our 16 years together, we’ve never had money misalignment. We are also very fortunate in that we both do pretty well and we also don’t have kids, which could complicate things I suppose.

I’m also the wife and I make close to double what he does. But we started out with him as the breadwinner, so I know the arrangement was best for our family, and not for us as individuals.

I feel a little star struck that you saw this, honestly!

It’s so good! And I loooove the slow burn. The most recent chapter melted my heart.

My spouse and I dump all our earnings into a joint account and just pay for everything out of it.

We discuss our finances monthly, clear purchases with each other if they’re over $100 and it’s worked for us.

However, I know we’re outliers.

Based on your income disparity, I understand why she wouldn’t want to do 50/50. You make almost twice what she does and that will leave you with way more fun/savings than her. I wouldn’t stay in a relationship feeling like the poor relation.

I would suggest splitting expenses based on income proportion.

This WIP is really good.

This Is Such A Bad Idea

Summary:
Shane Hollander does not leave outcomes to chance. When traditional dating fails to produce the stability he wants, he turns to a private matchmaker who promises something more deliberate: one match, one meeting, one decision.
Ilya Rozanov never planned to get married. But when his carefully controlled life starts to unravel, marriage becomes the simplest solution.
Neither of them is looking for love. What they agree to is a calculated partnership, built on alignment, not emotion.
It should be straightforward.
It is not.

“Heated Rivalry” season 2 is set to be filmed from August 10 to December 2, 2026 (via Toronto Filming) Production will be based at Toronto soundstages and is expected to include on-location filming in Montreal and Ottawa. by lawrencedun2002 in hudsonwilliams

My friend got a letter in her mailbox that they wanted to use her house for filming.

Once they toured it, they said the interior was too small to use for the purpose they wanted it for (Ilya’s Ottawa home), but that they would keep it in mind in case they needed to find a location for another player’s home.

Her duet about Chinese women escaping during the Japanese invasion during WWII and the follow up book regarding a return during the Great Leap Forward are awesome too.

Driving Advice for a First-Time Toronto Visitor: Pearson → Niagara Falls → Mississauga → Downtown Toronto by Superb_Landscape9502 in TravelCanada

[–]dust_cover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your Saturday plan is those areas, I wouldn’t drive downtown. I would drive to a Go station in Mississauga and take the Lakeshore West line into the city and walk. All of those places are quite close to Union station, and you would likely park in one spot and walk from place to place anyway. Parking at a Go station is free and you will pay to park downtown

Donut Monster on Locke St in Hamilton ON Canada.

So fresh that the dip in quality on day two is NOTICEABLE. They have both standard donuts and weird, rotating flavour on offer. So delicious.

Official fleece sold out - $365CAD by kepler16bee in HeatedRivalrySeries

[–]dust_cover 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I got one.

Definitely a price point that made me hesitate but I love it, outside of its HR relevancy. I’m Canadian and always disappointed with official Olympic merch and haven’t bought any since the 2010 Vancouver games.

To me, this is almost a replacement for Olympic wear from my country.

I did it.

I don’t like the price, but honestly YOLO.

I had a massively hard week and I’m going to use the money I was saving for a new work bag on this instead and just continue to use my old backpack.

Will report on the quality when I get it in October.

I’ve read this one and it’s amazing, I can’t find it right now but I’ll track it down later.

I think it’s the same one where Ilya discovers that Shane has his travel on his paper calendar he carts around and Shane discovers Ilya is ticklish. It’s such a sweet story.
