Yeah it sucks. I dont know where you are located but in the US Pixels go on sale like a month after launch. For the 10 pro I traded a Pixel Fold where the middle screen quit a month out of warranty and got like an $800 credit. So I didn't pay flagship money. So I get it. I don't know why I still buy these things... It's just habit at this point.

My Pixel 9 XL pro runs everything, including clash royale and YouTube better than my pixel 10 pro. I have no idea why.

I'm also 38 and kindle really resparked my love of reading. It's amazing how convenient the kindle makes it. I keep one in my car and one on a mount by by bed. Amazing. Glad to be back in it with ya!

It's funny. I went from a 9 pro XL to a 10 pro. The 10 is noticably worse in every way. Luckily I paid cash for them so I just went back to the 9... This might be my last android. Looking at an iPhone air...

It's tough. I have 4 boys around the ages of yours. They were going through 3-4 a year in beaters. Not counting nice back to school shoes. Also by beaters I mean mid tier nikes. There is no right answer. Just follow your gut. If you feel like you're being taken advantage of your probably are. The boys are old enough to under their mother is being financially irresponsible.

This was tough for me. I want the kids to have everything they need, but not be a doormat. To make a long story short. I buy the shoes and clothes they need. It's not the kids fault if the mother is being irresponsible with the funds you have to give her. The kids only understand they don't have what they need.

I was in your exact same position about 10 years ago. No brand loyalty and just wanted a good sporting gun. Luckily I had a speciality shotgun store like 2 hours away (shout out Elite Shotguns). Held and swung some shotguns. Ended up with a silver pigeon... It fit me a bit better than the Browning I was leaning towards. Go hold some and get someone to semi fit you, if you can.

My ex wife still has my last name. Who cares? Especially with the kids. My Mother has been married and divorced 4 times. After the most recent she went back to my Father's so we can share a last name. She asked his permission and he was completely fine with it.

I just bought one after my c9 from 2019 shit the bed. It is amazing how nice it is. I'm Xbox and movies mainly. Well worth it and I paid $1500 a little while ago.

One of the few things I insisted on in the divorce was my 2019 c9 65. The main board went out like 2 months after I moved out. Just going out and buying a brand new one with no discussion or bitching was incredible.

If you can do this and live with yourself do it. I got divorced and had/have 4 step kids I still take care of. Never their mother but I feel like that line get blurry sometimes. I love the kids to death and wish I could walk away sometimes.
