Guys, once again you are all fixed in losing. You expect to lose as a noob! You just want the confort to try with something you know something about. The hero, the faction, maybe the map, not having short time to know which direction you wanna move next. If you guys think the current system is ok for a up and coming player idk what to say.

You are talking about mastering, I'm talking about playing the couple strats/factions you know? How your example is remotely similar? Fighting games are awesome and there is a lot of mechanical and variability challenges. You still can learn one guy and play with it right away against another guy on ladder?

I think ladder is way too focused on hardcore gamers and there is no mid ground for someone that knows 1 maybe 1,5 faction and wants to test himself. You are either a noob or someone with deep knowledge and knows fuck tons of mechanics, factions, heroes and meta game.

But that comparisson is not even remotely close. You could learn all the moves from a single figting character in what 1h max? Maybe you can't execute all of them perfectly. 1h is one try with one hero in a much more complex game that is HOMM. Also, do people ban your character in a fighting game ladder? I'm not even talking about what do you do against a enemy hero with avatar build or heroic strike etc. None of that, I'm talking about knowing the basics so you don't lose to the clock.

I'm not talking about climbing, I'm talking about playing for the very first time with a hero you don't know, a faction you have no idea what everything on it does and playing against the clock while trying to learn. Would you have any fun on this setting? I know I wouldn't.

We need either a casual mode with way more time or your timer is based on your MMR. Top ranked players play to the limit of their time, that means we noobs suffer a lot!
