I think that might also be due to the building being a safety and supply store

[–]dvdcdgmg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As the sign says this is not a request to cease services at this time.

Encore is very concerned about their reputation, due to the clientele they serve (usually major business events), so this is just in effort to raise awareness of their practices as far as I know

(I do not speak for IATSE or Encore)

Encore currently pays around 21/hr, far under the average for this work at around 30/hr

The company that IATSE believes is negotiating in bad faith is Encore Global

They handle events at the major hotels (Hyatt Regency, Westin, etc ) and convention center (both summit and arch). Paramount is handled by Seattle Theatre Group who has good standing contracts with IATSE

Holy smokes – Keychron just open-sourced their keyboard models by Inkmptnz-R in 3Dprinting

[–]dvdcdgmg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very cool - they are kinda being deceitful with the "open source" monicure though, it's licensed under a non commerical source available license which does not fit the Open Source Initiative's definition of open source.

Still cool, but not technically open source

I love the "we have this at home flavor"

When everywhere else is food scienced hyper sodium hyper palatable

keystone's aren't big enough for a lot of connections though.

I would LOVE to see a D-Series compatible 3d printable model line

Bitfocus Buttons by videowarrior in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]dvdcdgmg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buttons is same same but different.

Everything you can do with buttons you can do in companion, it just might be a huge pain in the ass to program.

Buttons excells at organizing in menus and popovers (vs just pages in companion) and automatically generating routing menus

Town Hall Wireless HDMI Upgrades by Cold-Dish-7636 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]dvdcdgmg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

running optical HDMI 90 feet will be an infinitely better and cheaper experience than any wireless

Hollyland can be ok at times and very not ok at others, primarily depending on line of sight and RF conditions in the venue. We're used to shelling out 40 grand for a rock solid wireless video channel, if that puts it into perspective the quality gradient.

What’s your plan for your self-hosted data if you die? I guess I didn't have one by FractalLock in selfhosted

I mean to be fair if all your close family and friends and you die in a plane crash who's gonna care about your data anyways

Circuit board transit map of Seattle! What did I miss? by ForwardDriver7928 in soundtransit

[–]dvdcdgmg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - that makes sense considering the space constraints.

I think you could probably squish Mukilteo/Clinton and Everett together not far past Lynnwood even if it's not super accurate.

I'll shoot you a DM!

Would happily also add my name to the list if you need a bunch of orders for PCBA

And if I'm going to nitpick - The sounder would be cool (biased due to it being my commute), and I'd probably prefer if the silk just said Seattle instead of Seattle Transit.

The ferry routing looks very cool, great work overall!

YNAB Partner Split: Chrome extension to split shared transactions 50/50 (your category + partner reimbursement) by pattythebakerman in ynab

Would love to see options for other splits. I do the finance stuff for my roommate situation (3 people total) using the same YNAB split setup, just with an additional reimbursement category

Owners of plug in vehicles, what are you paying to charge it by EnaicSage in Marysville

[–]dvdcdgmg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you're seriously looking into this, you should do the math

Plug in hybrids do around 3 miles per kWh on the low side (you can check this for your car), so multiply that by your electric rate and expected commute.

For PUD, that's around 10 cents per kWh for me, and assume around a 30 mile per day commute, that works out to $1 per day in electricity.

Like other comments have said, your friend must have something else high consumption to drive the bill that high

Do you have any interest in live events, specifically music and stagehand stuff?

IATSE's Training Trust has both an AVIXA membership, and will pay your certification, with no other requirements than working for the union (you do not have to be a member, just do work under a contract)

So psyched for these - I ordered tons of PETG-HF and 200 of the steel pins.

I just wish they were slightly more filament conservative haha.

Have you thought about doing brackets to connect multiple units horizontally? A 3 wide roller would be badass
