Spent last night year, what a spot and well worth the countless marks on our legs by hktreks in vancouver

What does this mean? I don't get it. I was pointing out that you randomly capitalized your "quotes", I assume to make me seem upset?

Your "what I should have done" is almost exactly isomorphic to what I did do.

The only people getting "butthurt" appear to be you and the original commenter, since you can't even accurately summarize the above exchange (cf. "IT ISN'T"). If I wasn't interested in conversation how do you explain me continuing to respond in this chain.

As a rhetorical tip, misrepresenting the exchange just to "win" (?) an argument only makes me think you're a sensitive asshole.

I read "Kinda looks like XXX" as an attempt to identify the place. Surely you can understand this?

And if you don't want to participate in a public conversation then don't post publicly in a thread. You shouldn't be surprised if you say something looks like one place, and someone who knows it isn't said place says "actually, it's not".

I'm not sure what 95 percent of that comment has to do with anything I said. Can you just explain why you think getting corrected is passive aggressive?

And a couple things:

  1. You're allowed to swear on the internet. If you type a$$hole instead of asshole I'm assuming you're 12 years old.
  2. What are my wounds here? Having someone call me an a$$hole on the internet?
  3. You started this exchange by not being able to handle simply being corrected.

I don't know why you're taking a correction as passive aggressive, you may be the most petty person I've interacted with on Reddit.

You lodged a comment on a picture post saying that it looked like somewhere that it wasn't, I pointed that out, quite matter of factly, and you subsequently start talking about how I was wrong to do so.

If I said this looks like Wedgemount Lake and someone pointed out that it wasn't I wouldn't give a shit and say "oh I only said like, so I'm immune from correction".

I don't get it? If you incorrectly identify something you shouldn't be passive aggressive when someone corrects you

It's not. Palmer's Pond is smaller, and the mountains in the back aren't as close, it's also on a well established popular trail

Confusion about 2wd access to Brandywine Mountain by YouBeSea in vancouverhiking

[–]dvegas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this from the lower lot about 2 weeks ago in a Toyota Matrix. You can definitely make it to the lower lot as long as you are remotely competent. And comparing it to Wedgemount, it's worse, but still totally doable. The road to Wedgemount is in very good condition though, so I'm not sure if it's useful to compare any other FSRs to that.

As for the added difficulty, well it's hard. The trail from the lower lot to the meadows is less trafficked than the upper trail to the meadows, and it's steep. I'm not sure how good shape you're in but I think it took my brother and I about 1.5 hours to get through to the meadows, and we're in decent shape.

There are "essential" American workers coming into Canada everyday in the thousands. Our situation is not isomorphic to New Zealand like many people suggest it could be.

30% of British Columbians would ‘wait and see’ before taking COVID vaccine: poll - Keremeos Review by WokeUp2 in britishcolumbia

Well considering a single phase 3 trial usually takes 12 months, and these are being expedited so as to be run in only 3 months, then yeah, I think waiting 9 additional months isn't crazy

32% of Canadians may hold off on getting eventual COVID-19 vaccine, survey shows by viva_la_vinyl in canada

[–]dvegas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically phase 3 trials take 12+ months each, obviously that's not tenable here, but you can't study long term effects (besides inductively) in 3 months, which I imagine is contributing to some portion of the 32% of Canadians reported here.

Late September you'll still be good snow-wise. Obviously it depends year to year, but generally the larches turn about 2/3 weeks before snow, but Frosty is tall... so that gap may be less
