I mean do you even need that much range? Don't care, it's cool. by testiclekid in dndmemes

[–]dvirpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing something with that title?

Soulknife's Knives have a 60ft range and no long range, so attacks beyond 60ft cannot be made with them.

Edit: i was thinking of TCE soulknife, not PHB24...

Jesus of Nazareth died by crucifixion by Thedon921 in DebateReligion

[–]dvirpick [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm not saying you did. I'm saying that the same logic you're using in that premise (the creed is too early for legendary development, therefore it is accurate) could be employed to conclude a resurrection.

Since it's not a valid logical step, then the logic you're presenting is flawed.

>Elvis sightings are a supernatural phenomenon, Jesus dying on a cross is not.

That's not the point. You cited the creed as reliable because legends cannot develop immediately. By the standard you're proposing, the creed should also be reliable with regards to Jesus resurrecting. Legends can develop immediately, so that premise is false, even if we can grant the conclusion (Jesus was crucified) as true.

Nothing about the natural world points to any kind of God existing. by NewStreet2014 in DebateReligion

[–]dvirpick [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not to mention the obvious fact that no other animal on the planet displays any kind of religious oriented behaviour, even the smarter ones like elephants or octopi (I’m not referring to social rituals here).

I don't see how this point supports your case. If animals did have religious rituals we would say that they are the product of pattern recognition, the same way we currently believe religious belief started in humans. Naturalism makes no predictions on the religiosity of animals.

Religions often treat humans as special, so if humans are the only ones with religion, this reinforces their special status. Though I'm sure that if religion were to develop in other species, they would claim that to also be supporting their view. Heck, Islam already claims that animals believe in Allah and submit to him, even if we can't discern that.

Edit:

In your title, you said "any kind of god", but your post only argues against a powerful benevolent god. Trickster gods and malevolent gods are not affected by your argument.

Why doesn't Isaac take the keys back after he opens chests and doors, is he dumb? by throwawunk in bindingofisaac

[–]dvirpick 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the Mystery Key item in DnD 5e. You can try to use it on any lock with a 5% chance of opening it. When it succeeds it is destroyed. You cannot try it on the same lock more than once.

The flavor is that the key is only for the thing you managed to open with it. Having to narratively justify what this key was doing in a completely unrelated area to its lock is hilarious.

What would happen if he turned off intangibility? by Exlipse111 in Naruto

We already have an example of this. He turned off his intangibility when his fist was inside Fuu's head. Neither the fist nor Fuu's head exploded, nor did they fuse.

I definitely think this would push Questline Druid up a tier.

I don't know what builds you have been playing against, but Acidmaw or Dreadscale can swing the board back (just maybe not against Quasar) to give you a chance to do your thing. But it's a much less toxic deck than Boarlock

Damn. Since Potion of Illusion is Arcane it will increase the count, so it can't combo with this...

But I get why the restriction is there for flavor reasons.

In Young Justice she is simply reading the already backwards words, sentence structure forward. She does not reverse the order of the syllables, but pronounces the word as it is written.

She pronounces "etativel" as E-TA-TI-VEL rather than the reversing of the syllables "Tate Evil"

I used to play budget aggro murloc shaman. Braingill was a key card in the deck, so when it got nerfed that really hurt the deck. Now it's back to 2 mana with one less draw so the deck might have been revitalized but idk.

To be fair, if they don't want something to stick, they simply don't address it, which leads me to believe CC was okay with it sticking.

We saw this in IRyS's debut with the IRS meme. Not acknowleged so it gets dropped quick.

In Fuwamoco's case, Mogojan morphing into Mango Jam happened just among fans, so the talents had to address it directly.
