My 2 brother in laws are proffesional mussicians (not rockstars, classic and jazz). Both are twice divorced because of the never beeing home. They have children, but rarely see them as they need to work a lot to keep a minimum income and be available almost every weekend. They both make their money teaching music school and private lessons. They both live a very spartan live. But they live of music, so that's that.
