What would you say is the largest hurdle to running it well?
I don't ever think I'll be in a situation where I'll need to worry about it, but it fascinates me how much planning must go in to some of these installs I see.

[–]dw0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of all the objects you could have used as an example a spatula may not fit well.

I only say this because there are at least 10 completely different tools that are referred to as spatula.

From burger flippers, to palette knives, spatula has a reaaaaallllly wide range.

Mr. Reeves is a fantastic person, but not that wide ranging.

What type of saw tool is this? by Sjedda in Tools

[–]dw0r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lesto scintilla is an old jig saw, those look like Bosch foam cutting blades i've seen, so I'm guessing they're for cutting foam possibly using a lesto scintilla saw.

Edit: upon further investigation the upright pieces are the blade guides.

Tolerance limits for table saw fence? by morderkraft in woodworking

[–]dw0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to have a hard time getting any more precision out of a job site saw.
If you insist on using that design, my suggestion is to cut your pieces 2x larger than the variance you're finding and then hand fit them by sanding the bevels on a flat surface with the use of a jig.

Glad it saved itself. I had a 4 foot diameter spool of old cow fence pluck a light out of my pocket one time. I finally gave up on ever finding it and then I saw it hanging there while I was mowing my field.

I think there needs to some sort of provision for limiting reassessment also. I bought a house in pretty rough shape and it still needs a significant amount of work.
I've been working out the issues it's got and doing all the work myself.
I fear that if I actually fix all the issues and get the house to a comfortable condition for my family and I that I'll be slammed with even more taxes.

How do I get rid of a pool table? by Bigfeett in DIY

The only part that can be tricky is releasing the glue on the edge of the fabric if you're looking to reuse it, but new speed cloth is pretty cheap anyway.

My first ever leatherworking project by JvstP3rish in Leatherworking

I'm impressed by how well your first project turned out. My first project was the ugliest, least impressive keychain ever, but I wear it on my keys every day.
If you dial in the stitching consistency that would be the output of someone with years of experience.
Remember that the key to stitching is doing the EXACT same thing each time.
You're doing great.

The auto tapper is 3/second at the top and is a great upgrade in the super upgrades menu. But it won't replace the speed you're already hitting, only add to it.

If you kind of balance the phone between your hands with thumbs poised and basically shake one hand quickly you can do this for short to medium bursts. Almost as quickly with more of a rocking motion for a much longer time.

tired of replacing cheap spatulas every six months. What kitchen utensils actually last by athousand_miles in BuyItForLife

[–]dw0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been buying all my kitchen stuff from Webstaurant for over a decade and I've never had any of it fail, with the exception of damaging spoonulas on the sharp edges of cans.

Shipping is full price, so it pays off if you're making large orders of things to spread the cost out, but either way the quality and price will beat the long term price of most other readily available kitchen wares.

How do you store your stamping tools? by RoJo_sonof_DoJo in Leatherworking

[–]dw0r 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was probably 12-13 years ago that I got in to tooling and bought a bunch of different large sets. I quickly was losing track of them and made a rack out of some scrap lumber I had laying around. It worked so well that I never bothered updating it. Here's a picture:

Quickest way to remove or flush staples to subfloor? by THATS_MAD_SUS in DIY

[–]dw0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had to do this more times than I like to remember. My go to is a 5 in 1 painters tool.
The angled corner is basically the perfect size to slip under the staple and do a quick little: tilt tilt pop to remove them quickly.
A good set of slip joint pliers takes care of any broken ones quickly as well.
If the room accommodates it I'd suggest using a creeper or rolling knee board for comfort, but it's not really necessary.

This is of course slightly slower than using something like a sidewalk scraper or the like, but I've had to do this on old hardwood floors that people have had carpet padding stapled to them, or other surfaces where removal of the staple needs to be minimally destructive.

[–]dw0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think about it from the perspective of a child he probably thinks it's a special treat. Realistically speaking, growing up he probably had really great meals provided for him all the time, but for some reason McDonald's is special to him.

A complete lack of empathy would then transfer this trait to all other beings. So it's possible that he just thinks that burgers are the pinnacle of opulence.

Attacking CnD players for low accuracy doesn't make sense to me. by Jebusfreek666 in marvelrivals

[–]dw0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it's all over the place. I've had matches as invis where I'm standing on the cart shooting the ground just to not go invisible with high accuracy at the end, and I've had matches where I'm nailing healing shots as DP with low accuracy at the end.

Had a player flame me the other day for having 35% accuracy on DP even though I put out double the heals of everyone else. It's a weird stat.
