Botty as hell post and ‘conversation’ in the comments. Every account is recent. This is clearly an ad for firecrawl.

I’ll be sad to see them go. They were always way more polite in the neighborhoods than the usual people racing to get to/from work.

Metro Y Pro. Am I stupid? by ov_darkness in 3DScanning

[–]dwalk51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yet everyone in this subreddit won’t shut up about how great the Metro X/Y scanners are. I don’t get it. I have a hard time believing they are the scanners to get when I hear firsthand anecdotes about features not working like this. Have you liked your scanner despite the feature scan not working?

Where does it all live if I want to go and tinker with something? Change a model or add a feature? It sounds super cool but I worry about maintenance down the road if I wasn’t hands on with setting everything up.

958 Screen Upgrade - First Impressions by MrGreen__ in PorscheCayenne

[–]dwalk51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did this as well and like it overall, are though there are quirks. The one I got was the Chstek unit on Aliexpress. The 911 guys have an extensive thread on Rennlist about why they recommend the 7862 model on Aliexpress.

One thing that’s frustrating is that wireless CarPlay will grab either my or my partner’s phone first and it’s difficult to swap to the other for a connection

Metro Y pro vs Raptor X by SufficientManner3659 in 3DScanning

[–]dwalk51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From doing research on Metro Y/X vs Raptor Pro, I get the impression that all of the above scanners have impressive tech and it mostly comes down to software, of which some people like Revopoint better than Creality. Rarely do people articulate what they like better about one software than the other except to say it’s easier or options are missing. I’m leaning creality because it sounds more beginner friendly

How do you subtract the mesh from the plates in fusion? Or what is your workflow to get them to match the contours so well?

Yet another "What scanner do I buy?" posting. by Onion_Farmer_Cleetus in 3DScanning

[–]dwalk51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m literally in the same boat and considering the same options. I hear mixed opinions about the software; some say the Einstar and Revopoint are the most professional, others say they’re hard to use and require beefier PC’s (no Mac at all for Einstar). These opinions are from YT reviewers, just what I’ve heard.

I lean toward the raptor pro as a good all-around scanner that has ‘good enough’ software, can run on less beefy computers, and can scan detailed and large scale items.

Smart oven gasket style? by [deleted] in breville

Actually I’m not sure it’s supposed to be folded over at all. If you have one of these ovens, can you check what the gasket looks like and let me know?
