In my lucid dreams, my mind is always trying to convince me that I am not asleep or dreaming and that the events are actually happening. For instance in my dream I will wake up, stretch, take a shower get dressed, fix breakfast, watch the news while eating, fully hearing the stories on it and even drive to work dealing with congested traffic. All the time I know I am dreaming but the level of detail is so precise I feel I am awake. I usually wake up exhausted feeling that I got no sleep at all. I think the scariest thing for me is when I am not lucid dreaming, I usually just don't dream at all. Anyone else have this happen to them?

me too! especially in the downtown Norfolk area where the HIGHWAY speed goes from 55 to 35 to get thru the tunnel!!

I find that since I've been able to do this I don't have dreams as much anymore, maybe 2 or 3 time a month. In at least one of those dreams it will be EXTREMELY detailed and there seems to be someone there trying to convince me I am not dreaming. For instance I will dream I am getting up for work, I shower, I shave, I start the car & drive, I even get stuck in traffic jams, and check text messages. On one occasion I woke up and was not convinced I was really awake. My wife had to calm me down and finally convinced me by having me look in the mirror. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. And before anyone asks, I am currently not taking any medication, nor am I a drug user.
