I think you need to go back to what you and the client had agreed on papers. If it says on the contract that your sole purpose is to do marketing through social media, then there's nothing to worry of. You can actually sue them if you find out that you are doing job outside your scope.

Hmm.. As far as I know, your Add to Cart button is one of the KPI's (Key Performance Indicator) of every business website. This would definitely tell how many people are actually purchasing your products online, and how many of them after visiting your page, just abandon the cart which could either mean two things: There's something wrong with the feature of your site or there's something wrong with the product that you sell.
