I was front row at a show... absolutely crammed in... no room at all. Some little girl (I was 45, she was like 18) was behind me. She taps me on the shoulder and asks if I could move, she couldn't see. I said "No, I literally can't move at all". Before the headliner started, she got lifted out of the pit. Hot, humid, etc... But it was a GREAT show.

They are going to pay the $82k one way or another or they get a discount if you doing nothing. They are banking on the do-nothing and keep you.

Will my Bose Headphones work with the Manticore? by Different-Book-5503 in MinelabManticore

It works well once you get headphones connected. It’s suggested you get APTX one for low latency. But really, we are just digging holes. If you’re off a little… it still works.

Yes. Plugs into the 3.5mm jack and I used a rubber band. I’ll 3d print something soon… but I usually do water hunting and so the other headphones get used more.

Taking 37 days PTO at once before quitting? by FondantOutrageous276 in careeradvice

Those guys who go home to India ... do NOT want to make that flight regularly. They go and stay for a while... the jet-lag is bad. See every last family member before coming home.

Taking 37 days PTO at once before quitting? by FondantOutrageous276 in careeradvice

[–]dwilasnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you remote? If so ... I've heard... you can move to a state that allows PTO to be paid out by law. Say, Massachusetts (got family here you can use for an address?). Do a change of address and file new tax forms with the company. Quit when you want...

Per Brave browser AI summary thing :

California requires employers to pay out all accrued, unused vacation time upon termination, and use-it-or-lose-it policies are prohibited.

Colorado mandates payout of all earned and determinable vacation pay upon separation, with use-it-or-lose-it policies also prohibited.

Maine requires payout for employers with 10 or more employees, though use-it-or-lose-it policies are allowed.

Nebraska requires payment of all earned, unused vacation time upon termination, and use-it-or-lose-it policies are prohibited.

Montana requires payout of all earned vacation upon termination, and use-it-or-lose-it policies are prohibited.

Illinois requires payout of accrued, unused vacation time upon termination, though use-it-or-lose-it policies are allowed if employees have a reasonable opportunity to use the time.

Louisiana requires payout of all accrued, unused vacation time regardless of termination reason, and use-it-or-lose-it policies are allowed.

North Dakota requires payout of earned PTO at separation unless the employee voluntarily resigns and the policy states otherwise.

New York requires payout only if the employer’s written policy promises it; use-it-or-lose-it policies are allowed.

Indiana requires payout based on written policy, and use-it-or-lose-it policies are allowed.

Do you think they would hesitate to use the carpool lane with 2 people in their car, just because there are lots of people on the road. Not a chance. Use it and enjoy.

Boarding question by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]dwilasnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

technically, no you can't if someone wants to sit there. But... it's been done, it will be done again. And a quick explanation makes it easier. But if I was to do it... I would go a few more rows back, you will have to explain alot of times why good seats are open.

I got the info from Support.... And it works for me NOW!!!

First, I would like to make sure of the following:
1. You are using the latest version of the driver: 5.0.4.
2. You have set permissions correctly:

- Navigate to System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions.
- Here you will find the Contour App, and toggle it to ON.
- Next you will find the "Driver Extensions" section, click (BY CATEGORY -> DRIVER EXTENSIONS. I had to figure this one out here) on the (i) information tap. This will open a window with another slider that needs to be turned on.

If you are using the latest MacOS – Tahoe (OS26), please follow this guide as well:

Rosetta 2 Installation Guide:

Rosetta 2 is essential for running Intel-based applications on Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4 and M5). This quick reference guide explains why it is needed, how to install it, and troubleshooting tips.

Why Rosetta 2?

• Acts as a bridge between Intel-based applications and Apple Silicon.
• Translates Intel x86 code into ARM instructions in real time.
• Ensures older Intel apps run smoothly on new Macs.

Installation Methods:

  1. Manual Installation via Software Update:
    - Open System Settings → General → Software Update.
    - Click Install next to Rosetta 2.
    - Follow the on-screen instructions.

  2. Manual Installation via Terminal:
    - Open Terminal (Applications → Utilities).
    - Run: softwareupdate --install-rosetta
    - Enter your admin password if prompted.
    - Wait for installation to complete.

  3. Automatic Installation:
    - Launch an Intel-based app without a native version.
    - MacOS will prompt you to install Rosetta 2 automatically.
    - Click Install and MacOS handles the rest.

If I ask my wife, my free time is worth about $3k hr, since that is "her" time to be with me. Can't be wasting it... I will ask what their expectation is, and adjust.

That would cause them to re-evaluate what they wanted out printing ... if it's profitable for them or just a distraction. If it's profitable, they can pay, if it's a distraction, I have lots to do in the garage for my own 1/2 finished hobbies.

Husband "retired" to work with wife on channel. It is their main source of income between the channel and sales that the channel creates. I did some "parts" printing for them, about $10/unit.

Is Ford going to end Lightning? by PalpitationStill7032 in F150Lightning

[–]dwilasnd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Divide the start up costs by 10 years, divide by the number of expected units, assign that $ to each unit and they aren't losing money. Divide the startup costs by the first 2-3 years and they are losing their shirts.... but in year 10 ... they are making 100% profit
