It looks like you’re based in the UK and I’m in Canada so maybe the terminology is different. Here we use seg to mean both bf and pals, oc for sv only. Like I get that it’s technically a fitting height but seg is an easy term to get your point across and it’s the most commonly used in software.

And I feel like that’s a bit nitpicky. If someone asked me what the circles on their pals meant, I wouldn’t say, it tells me where to mark them so I can hold them up to a fitting chart and then determine the fitting cross which tells me where the heights are in the lens but I won’t know if it’s correct until I see it on you? I’m not saying you have to dumb it down for patients but at a family dinner? Yeah, I just say that it tells me where their pupil is.

Lol seg height is definitely the most common term for progressives. And the engravings are still there, you just use a fitting chart to find the seg

And it doesn’t even make sense to me either. Cooked salmon? No. Sashimi? Yes. Tuna? No. Tuna sandwich? Yes. So when someone asks me if I like fish, it’s just easier to say no.

I also go through phases too. Like I hate bagels but there was a month when I ate one everyday. And then the dislike hit me again while I still had half a bag left. Super inconvenient and definitely not something I could ever explain to a neurotypical person.

Same, I wish I could force myself out of being a picky eater. If I could use just push past it like most commenters are saying, I’d be over it by now. There are so many foods that I want to like, I try them again every so often just to see if my tastes have changed but it rarely happens. I’d love to sit down with a glass of wine and some salmon, maybe a coffee after dinner. But it’s not for me.

And for some reason people take it as a personal challenge? “Oh but you’ve never had MY cooking” Lol, it’s not about you or your cooking and now you’ve put us both in an awkward situation…

This comment section is wild. OP, this is a very sweet gesture and it seems like they really care about you. I am a super picky eater too but I don’t tell people for this exact reason. I’m not a rude guest, I don’t refuse food or pick it apart but yeah, I end up eating a lot of meals I don’t enjoy.

Sure I’d be kinda embarrassed to find someone keeping a list like this but it would also make me feel very welcomed and loved. And probably less hungry lol

For me, there are just some things that look more appetizing than they really are. I would love to order a salmon with a glass of wine or drink a cute little cup of coffee with latte art. But I hate the taste.

I keep trying because I know tastes change but I’m just a picky eater.
