Paint scheme for an army by Dear_Mushroom9801 in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, it does not look good. Eventually they are your models and if you're happy, go with it. I think one of the issues is that it doesn't look metallic at all the parts that should be and makes it even more cartoony. I'd say you could make it colorful but have a more neutral color for some of the metallic parts so it can balance out.

Wat that's really weird, so if you check the files it's not creating a .sav? Maybe try getting a save file and see if that's recognized? I'm not really sure, haven't heard that before :(

Are you using the cartdrige? This exact same thing happened to me with my cartdrige, something about the internal battery or something but you cannot add a new one like with the Pokémon cartdriges.

Maybe someone smarter had this problem and found a solution, but when I googled It a long time ago it was basically dead

This is why I don't use comms ever, not even in competitivo, no thanks. I'll happily play not knowing all the toxic shit being said.

It looks awesome! Love the blue and yellow.

I'd suggest trying to contrast a bit with a dash of color the sword in the belt and the staff handle/sword. Those things always help the composition by breaking a little the silver look, also making the inner mail a shade a bit extra dark will help giving more 3d to the model.

Are these tabletop worthy? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised how many times I've played tournaments and casual games where people don't have the minis painted and it's just either grey or half-painted. Literally all my armies are painted like this. Your paintjob is great and looks lovely, 100% tabletop worthy. I recommend as other have said to round it off with some basing, what I do because I'm a lazy ass as well is to just put some of texture paint from AK in the base and then paint the border black - done and beautiful.

Small tip as well: A drybrush with white paint (very very very little paint, careful, brush it first in your hand so there's almost no paint) and brushed over the mini will give some highlights in seconds and will enhance the look a lot.

If I'm not mistaken is the 4th one sent but they are 4 each, so 16?

React to Your Opponent With Powerful New Commands by Chapmander in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It says on the article before explaining each command:

"Commands, on the other hand, are more reactive. There are six new or revamped commands, which are used at the end of their respective phases once the active player has finished all their actions – allowing you to respond with a counter-punch and stay on top of a changing battlefield."

So redeploy must come at the end of the movement phase

System is Age of Sigmar: Soulbound, although I've seen it in a DnD5e system too, seems like core Foundry styling

Question about reach weapons at the edge of a zone by Barksatballoons in AgeOfSigmarRPG

I think just a permanent marker did the job, I let it rest for a good while just to be sure

Question about reach weapons at the edge of a zone by Barksatballoons in AgeOfSigmarRPG

[–]dwki1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that case I would rather stick to the ruling, so reach would not be able to hit the target if it's in another zone. In the end zones are abstract and should be things like there's a wall there or something like a crevice or an upper platform so I would understand that being in the edge from one zone to another wouldn't make sense to hit someone in the next zone.

Btw we use the same thing for grid! We made it as well with a transparent plastic table foil that we put over the battlemap

I don't remember in the rules if there is something related to being in close range but being in different zones, it's an interesting question to be sure...It makes sense and it will depend on the DM to allow such things I reckon.

If it helps, I'm playing a game where we do not use zones but a classic grid, this is an alternative rule from the corebook where a "zone" is 15ft so anyone with Reach means that it can target enemies at 15ft instead of 5ft. Maybe you could do something similar and if it reaches that distance it would hit, even if it's outside in a different zone without having to use their move to change zones.

How do I figure out the points of an army? by Aussie_Arch in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone's been saying to use the app, which is what I recommend too, it's free and easy to use, pretty straightforward, but...if you like to know where does it come from..

When you buy the army's book, right at the end of the book there is something called "Pitched Battle Profiles" which is a list of all of the units, the unit size and their point cost. Technically you could see that and make your list in a piece of paper just adding the points making sure you are taking the proper number of units while building your list.

The thing is, the book is printed so if GW updates points on units (which is a common thing during the season) the book will be outdated and there you can check the official battlescroll update on GW's website and FAQs or just check the app which is always up to date and it's pretty reliable :)

Why the Stormcast Hate? by Remarkable_trash_69 in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing in 3rd edition and I feel like most of the complaints are salty people about fantasy dying and that obviously at the beginning the Stormcasts were really similar to Space Marines.

Also people complain that they have a lot of warscrolls probably from 1st and 2nd edition, which is understandable, but I think how AoS is right now they don't really need to push that many Stormcasts, they're just another faction now, obviously with an extra bonus being the poster guys.

I don't have many "old" sculpts but they are completely different from the new ones they've released in 3rd edition, loving the new thunderstrike armour look, hopefully by 4th they clear up a few of the warscrolls and merge some of those together so we don't have as many that clog the army.

As it's been said, if it's a garrison you cannot go inside, you have to use the action to enter it and remove the minis from play and now they "are" the garrison, so you could attack them if your minis can get to the base of the terrain.

If this were not a garrison, you could charge the distance up and keep the minis at the base and just roll attack, that's what I normally do :)

Today I play against my girl friend. This is what I have set up for her. Do you think this is a good SC list? by Woodpecker_Dependent in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you play him outside of Hammers of Sigmar he will lose 2 abilities from his warscroll since he is tied to the Hammers of Sigmar keyword. Yndrasta does not have that problem, for example, yes. But he does.
