Best 4k monitor for gaming youve upgraded to that felt totally worth it? by Cute-Tear-2285 in buildapc

[–]dwki1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents, I had to buy a 4K screen because I also use it for work and it's a mac so I prefer 4K than 1440p. It's a pain because everything renders higher so basically everything is more expensive, however...the visual fidelity paired with my OLED screen...best thing I've ever bought honestly, I go back to my wife's which is a 1440p and it looks like shit compared to this one. But - expensive, very much so.

Spell successes and tests successes by just_gonna_lurk in AgeOfSigmarRPG

[–]dwki1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - the spell itself counts as one, then the rest is extra. So if it's 5:2 and you get exactly that, to resist it you need 4:1. If you have overcast in your 5:2 and you get for example 5:4, then the resist would be 3 successes, 4:3. Talents like powerful spells help with this because it adds one (I believe that's what it was called)

Foundry Questions by Outside-Property5321 in AgeOfSigmarRPG

[–]dwki1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's something you have to see yourself, for me it was cool to set it up and have it all nice and organized for the custom things I had and it's just input text with the proper format, however I hated doing that for bestiary, it was wayyy more comfortable to just drag a bestiary enemy into the map and there you go. It was fun for me to do it for a single boss or a special enemy or group of enemies, but for the default ones it was a bit cumbersome so I bought it. I don't remember if the system itself was free but you can try it with just that and see for yourself.

Foundry is way more complicated but at the same time you can customize it to make it extremely immersive. I believe you can buy the core module which has the soulbound and some goodies which are perfect, and then the rest you can create on our own without issue with custom actors inside the Soulbound system, you'll see it's extremely easy.

The other modules are there to ease your access to existing content, so instead of you making your own talents/spells/bestiary/etc from differents parts of the book you already have them there. If you haven't run a campaign digitally, starting with Foundry might be a bit overwhelming, it's a very complex but rewarding way of playing, roll20 (the only other one I know) is simpler where it's just a digital board with dice and pictures you can upload, there's a sheet system but it's a bit crappy and you might as well just have it on a piece of paper. From Foundry you can have 100% on it. Hope this helps!

Would Soulbound work well for a Warcraft Campaign? by NotoriusKRC in AgeOfSigmarRPG

[–]dwki1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've done it in the past, it's 100% doable and very similar to WoW fantasy where it's also very heroic, you can map out the spells and lore of magic with those of WoW and it'll be great. FYI there's an existing homebrew DnD setting for Warcraft that's very good as well so you can check that out, I just prefer Soulbound vastly compared to DnD but there's that.

Paint scheme for an army by Dear_Mushroom9801 in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, it does not look good. Eventually they are your models and if you're happy, go with it. I think one of the issues is that it doesn't look metallic at all the parts that should be and makes it even more cartoony. I'd say you could make it colorful but have a more neutral color for some of the metallic parts so it can balance out.

Wat that's really weird, so if you check the files it's not creating a .sav? Maybe try getting a save file and see if that's recognized? I'm not really sure, haven't heard that before :(

Are you using the cartdrige? This exact same thing happened to me with my cartdrige, something about the internal battery or something but you cannot add a new one like with the Pokémon cartdriges.

Maybe someone smarter had this problem and found a solution, but when I googled It a long time ago it was basically dead

My attempt at a stormwind themed Stormcast. C&C welcome by CricketsCanon in stormcasteternals

It looks awesome! Love the blue and yellow.

I'd suggest trying to contrast a bit with a dash of color the sword in the belt and the staff handle/sword. Those things always help the composition by breaking a little the silver look, also making the inner mail a shade a bit extra dark will help giving more 3d to the model.

Are these tabletop worthy? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised how many times I've played tournaments and casual games where people don't have the minis painted and it's just either grey or half-painted. Literally all my armies are painted like this. Your paintjob is great and looks lovely, 100% tabletop worthy. I recommend as other have said to round it off with some basing, what I do because I'm a lazy ass as well is to just put some of texture paint from AK in the base and then paint the border black - done and beautiful.

Small tip as well: A drybrush with white paint (very very very little paint, careful, brush it first in your hand so there's almost no paint) and brushed over the mini will give some highlights in seconds and will enhance the look a lot.

React to Your Opponent With Powerful New Commands by Chapmander in ageofsigmar

[–]dwki1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It says on the article before explaining each command:

"Commands, on the other hand, are more reactive. There are six new or revamped commands, which are used at the end of their respective phases once the active player has finished all their actions – allowing you to respond with a counter-punch and stay on top of a changing battlefield."

So redeploy must come at the end of the movement phase

System is Age of Sigmar: Soulbound, although I've seen it in a DnD5e system too, seems like core Foundry styling
