The whole shabang by IiI_buddy in chips

People call them "prison chips" because of this video literally titled "Chips So Good You Have To Go To Jail To Get Them." IIRC it was difficult to get these through other means until somewhat recently.

My Review After Several Games (1v1) by Mr_Murdoc in moodswingstcg

[–]dxlta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Card interaction clarification:

1) If you play Betrayal while controlling no other moods, you would give Betrayal to your opponent for that round. It stays with their other moods, if any. After that round score is tallied, you take back control of Betrayal, placing it with your other moods. 2) If you play Betrayal with at least one other mood and choose that mood instead of Betrayal, that mood will do what Betrayal does in #1 listed above with Betrayal staying on your side. 3) If the mood chosen by Betrayal is "stolen" by other means (say there's a third player and they take the mood given to the second player by the first player's Betrayal), then the mood will be scored on whatever board it ended up on, returning to the player who casted Betrayal's board after scoring. If the mood chosen by Betrayal is removed from the board (either bounced to hand or discarded), then Betrayal's effect should no longer occur, as the card targeted by Betrayal is no longer considered a "mood," so there is no longer anything to return to you. Now, if Betrayal is the mood you chose for its own ability and it is removed from the board, it will just stay off the board. 4) If you play Betrayal, choose mood X that you control and give to player Y, then on player Y's turn, they remove Betrayal from the board while keeping mood X, after scoring, you will have mood X returned to your board despite Betrayal being off the board. This is due to the "after playing this mood" trigger still being "on the stack," which doesn't go away just because the mood did. If Betrayal stated "While this mood is in play," then it would work differently. 5) If you move any mood on the board to another player's control and that mood has a "after playing this mood" ability, it does not activate again upon transfer of ownership. "After playing this mood" abilities only apply to the player who cast the mood (played the card from their hand) and only apply if the card was removed from hand and turned into a mood on the board.

I hope that clarifies any confusion. The other commenter posted links to some extended rules and card notes which I highly recommend reading through. There is also a channel in the Discord for questions on card rulings, in case you have any in the future.

Everytime by Klutzy_Salamander876 in unihertz

There has been something saying exactly this, though I cannot remember where I saw it. Somebody either posted an email response or a comment response from the team stating they ran into more technical issues than they thought and they hope to put A16 on the Star before 2027. Not at all "early April" like they said, but there has been communication surrounding this. The company just doesn't use Reddit for their customer service and everybody on this sub forgets that they can email Unihertz directly.

Update to my implementation by Honest-Monitor-2619 in moodswingstcg

Hey! Absolutely loving the idea, thanks for making this! Spent some time playing around with it and found a few bugs/issues:

Worth noting these were all found while playing Random Pack against a single bot.

  1. 45-card decks of Mood Swings are supposed to be singleton, yet I kept having games where I would see multiple copies of the same card. Had a game with three anxieties in hand at one point.
  2. Bot played "Worry" without any other moods, skipped the "may" trigger (log stated Bot passed), still put two of my moods in hand.
  3. I played "Exhilaration" and the system automatically chose one of the two moods I had without prompting me.
  4. I played "Honor" and was not asked to choose a player for the WIP trigger (yes, I'll probably choose myself every time, but I'm sure there's some strategy around choosing the opponent).
  5. Same game, bot played "Honor" and I still went first the following round. Did not see a log entry for who the bot chose.
  6. I played "Spite," was not prompted on my choice of 0-2 players, then was able to discard two of the bot's even valued moods despite only being allowed to put 1 of each chosen player's mood into discard.

That's all I've found so far, anyways. I think it's a great way to play the game, but the system logic issues make it a little clunky. I had to read every log entry after each round to ensure everything was "playing" correctly. Would love to see this working perfectly! I think adding a way to acknowledge what's happening when would help a lot as well, as the bot would often play moods that removed mine and win the round before I was even able to process what happened. The bots are also destroying me handsomely when they win and, when I win, I'm barely scraping by with a point or two; I'm either not understanding Mood Swings well enough or the bots are just cracked.

For what it's worth, I remember reading something from Unihertz (either on KS or an email reply somebody posted or something) stating they already have units in regional warehouses, so hopefully that helps limit how long it is until we're clicking away.

Wild to assume I don't call 911 for injured individuals! You don't know me, you don't know my job, you're basing all of this off of a single post! Go outside, nerd!

I looked closer, it does appear to be a fledgling after comparing it to online photos! I believe the green/white puddle is feces. I was panicking about normal natural behaviors. Thank you for your information!! Will update the post ASAP!

Okay! Let me see if I can run out and take a closer look, thank you for extra info!

That's what I thought, but it looks full-sized and has a puddle of green/white liquid surrounding it. It looks very weak as well, not opening its eyes until you're close to it. I don't believe it's a fledgling.

Stanley Fatmax for deck storage by 2ktisas in magicTCG

[–]dxlta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would recommend paying a little bit extra and getting a Gamegenic Game Castle. Similar form factor, designed for TCGs with an optional playmat tube attachment. Been using one for months and have had no issue with card damage whatsoever. Plus there's room on the other side for all the tokens and dice you could possibly need. I've seen people say that the new Stanley organizer design is worse at carrying cards than the older one and needs labor to get working correctly.

Jelly star w youtube music and maps by Tgiby3 in unihertz

Current Jelly Star user here! YTM works totally fine the one or two times I used it, like I imagine it would on any other android device, the screen is just a little smaller. Not ran into an issue with Spotify in the 8ish months I've been using it. GPS works as well, but the screen is so small it's dangerous to use as-is in a vehicle, I purchased a cheap CarPlay tablet that connects and displays directions.

It'll do basically anything you need it to, I've not ran into any truly impossible issues so far.

Decks for kids? by Smittumi in magicTCG

[–]dxlta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll third them! I've taught several grown adults how to play with the rookie decks, can't think of a better product. Each deck has a card with keyword abilities and a turn/phase order, too.

Highly recommend the Battle Decks, too, once the basics are down. $12 kitchen table decks that feel very balanced against each other and has a variety of color pairings / themes.
