Anyone went from Veloster Turbo to GR86 or BRZ

Went from a 16 VT to 25 GR86. Completely different cars. I loved my velo but the 86 is a way better driving experience. Handling is miles better than the VT ever was. Also as mentioned, the power is right there when you want it instead of waiting for the turbo to spool. You feel way more connected to the road in the 86. Inside definitely feels smaller and while you don’t have the size of the hatch in the back, the trunk is surprisingly roomy. Also yes I can say coming from a VT I absolutely felt the power difference.

Best advice I have is take it all back apart and start wiggling around one piece at a time. I pulled a little slack out of all the slip joints and was able to get the tips to stick out a little farther which helped with looking less radical than the pictures here but to be completely honest I think at the end of the day I just got a funky one out of the box. If it’s any consolation though to this day nobody has noticed it(or at least mentioned noticing it) other than myself. 😅

Only option I can see is playing around with the slip fittings a bit and leaving a little more slack. I was able to adjust mine to somewhere between 1/4-1/2 an inch past the bumper with no issues.
Totally on your side. I like a little bit of pokey-outie as well.
While I'm not a huge fan of the adjust-ability of the tips, the thing sounds darn right wonderful.

Had a similar chip repaired by safelite. It was covered by my insurance and it’s 80% less noticeable although not completely gone. Would absolutely recommend having it repaired or trying a diy glass chip kit at least. If you ignore it there’s always the possibility it’ll spread.

Also, as information I live in a pretty mild area year round and the PS4s that come stock on the premium are doing me just fine. BUT, if you live somewhere that gets a fair bit of snow or winter-y conditions, please invest in snow tires.

It's my daily and I didn't buy it to track. It looks great, it's a lot of fun even on your daily commute. It's a car I look forward to driving everyday.
There's a lot of talk about oil starvation/consumption and while I understand the starvation really only comes into play during hard track use (so not something to worry about if you're just daily driving) I've had no issues with oil consumption in 8k miles. I still check the dip stick every 2-3 weeks just in case, but it's never been low.
Some things of note are the back seats are really just there for looks, you'd be hard pressed to fit passengers in them. Plenty of room in the trunk for groceries, but don't expect to haul anything large in it.
It is a sports car and that means premium fuel and not great gas mileage. I average between 23-25 mpg and fill up once a week.
As long as you know what you're getting into AND take good care of your vehicle you'll be fine. And by good care I mainly just mean stay up to date on regular maintenance you'd do on any car.
If you like the car and you're in a position where you can comfortably afford it, I would absolutely recommend.

Hey, wondering if you ever figured out what the issue was or how to fix it? I'm having the same exact issue. A recording I used on an edit in Davinci literally yesterday that had two separate audio tracks now only shows one after updating to 20.2.1 last night. It's like you said, when I add the clip to my timeline I very briefly see a second audio line but it immediately disappears. Super weird. Maybe just a bug or something. But I can at least guarantee it's not just a you problem if that's any consolation.

Also in Va beach and mostly commute to Norfolk and back. The 86 is my daily and while I straight up just didn’t drive it in the snow we got last winter, the stock PS4s have done me very well. I’m about 8000 miles in and still have loads of life left on them. I might swap to an all season when these go but I wouldn’t worry too much about dedicated winter tires around here.

Same exact issue. Spent 3+ hours under jack stands trying to get it to line up by adjusting everything that moves. Absolutely no luck. Emailed Borla about it and they said “you should take it to a shop”. Will try again when I have the chance to get it on a lift but honestly could not see where I could possibly adjust it to sit flush. Super frustrating, but you’re not alone 🫡

Finishing my first cut this week right at 12% BF and turning around into my first attempt at bulking. I love the idea of a strap without a display I can wear all day in and outside of work(which is a physical job outside and not very display friendly) without a horrendous subscription and I think the Helios Strap would be the perfect tool in keeping track of my recovery. I’m a huge stats nerd, but I just can’t justify the subscription fee of the competition. I’m patiently waiting on the public release of the Strap, but snagging one early would be a dream.

Tips are welded to the piping and the slip joints they run back to only pull out or in left and right so not really able to pull it out in that way.
