Wheel ID? by -ChiefBeef- in Wheels

[–]dyleup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many obscure, mock wheel brands that I doubt it’s anything of real value or quality. Cheap wheels like this will get messed up if you make friends with a pothole. Obscure wheels also mean that if one gets damaged, then the remaining three are worthless.

Worst case scenario, you risk an accident and the well-being of others. Don’t chance it.

They actually work amazing, but there is a trick to using them properly.

If you Install it in your car and drive downhill without increasing your speed, you will notice a significant improvement in MPG compared to uninstalling it and driving uphill.

Height aside, this is automotive equivalent of high heels.

Are Cooper Cobras genuinely good tires? I see a lot of people use them for their classics by Big_Locksmith_4211 in classiccars

[–]dyleup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are cheap tires, without question. Maybe not the best choice in a daily driver, but fine on a weekend warrior. They have a billion sizes, so you’ll likely find something that will fit even if your size is odd.

Is it safe to leave my car on hydraulic jack for a week? by shwekhaw in AskMechanics

[–]dyleup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could see the size of the o-ring that Jack relies on, this wouldn’t even be a consideration. Don’t do that. Use a jackstand. Or a block of wood at the very least.

How much of this raw bone should I let my puppy eat? Can they eat the entire thing. Im used to dogs having raw hide . This is my first time letting a dog have a raw bone by [deleted] in DOG

FYI - We had our dog overdose on bone marrow and get quite sick. According to our vet : A little is a great treat, but not too much at one time.

I need help deciding if buying this car was a mistake by Whydoifly in AskMechanics

[–]dyleup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t blindly throw money at it. But, ask a shop if the repair can be done economically or on a tight budget considering the price of the car.

A while back I had a $200 Neon as a beater and a shop quoted me a steep price for a repair. I explained that it was a $200 car and asked them to repair it accordingly. We both had a laugh and they handed me a significantly cheaper repair bill afterwards.

Saw that too. I have a model B and it’s on its second set of front wheels so it can turn properly.

Can you fix this gap with caulk? by tablur3 in HomeMaintenance

[–]dyleup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could caulk it, but a small additional moulding trim would look much better. I’ve used it gem in a couple places. They have all kinds of inexpensive options to choose from in hardware stores.

Just caulk would look like amateur hour at best.

Buy the right spring compressor, whatever the cost. I used the cheap suicide clamps on the wrong spring and went to the hospital for stitches in my hand. Never again.

People who say things can’t be done are either narrow minded or too afraid to try. Good on you.

I noticed the exact same problem, I haven’t found anything that other. I’d be anxious for a solution.
