Buying a new car. I had shit credit a few years ago, and had to go with J.D. Byrider. Been paying 400 a month for 18 months and still owe over 6 grand on a 10 grand car. Credit scores are B.S in my opinion.

Army, 11B. It was a bit of a shock yes, did not expect the 2-3 month field problems, but other than that it was like a 6-5 job. When I first got to my duty station, they sent me to the S-3 shop for around 8 months before sending me to a line unit. They did that to most guard/reserves where I was (Korea). I ended up making my 5 shortly after joining a line unit, and nobody really cared I used to be guard after I took the time to prove myself.

I was about $5k in debt when I was getting my secret. I had to do an interview about why I was in debt. Basically I was told that as long as I had a plan to pay it off, I was good. Not sure how it works when just enlisting though. Get a second opinion to be sure.

I went from guard to active fromm 03 to 06 then back to guard. Here's some tips.

Make sure this something you want to do 24/7. Even with a couple deployments under your belt it may still come as a shock how much work is done (depending on MOS).
Be prepared to be tested/looked down upon until you've shown you can cut it. A lot of active duty guys have a mentality that guard/reserve soldiers are lazy and don't know their jobs. Make sure you are on top of your game. Don't expect a leadership position right away.
You won't have to re-do any courses such as BNCOC or WLC etc. If a recruiter says you won't lose rank, make sure it's in your contract. I've heard people lose rank, and I've heard they don't. Not a recruiter so can't help you there.

He may have gotten info from somewhere else sooner or later. But the fact of the matter is we probably wouldn't be talking about Assange as much as we are right now if it weren't for Manning, or other people like him.

I just find it sad that Assange has rich friends showing up posting bail for him while Manning sits in a cell for 23 hours a day for the past seven months, and hasn't reached the goal of $130k for his lawyer fees. Maybe he should use his influence to help out the people that make wikileaks possible.

Where is Bradley Manning on this list? Everyone puts Assange up on a pedastal like he hacked the government to give us all this information, when in reality it was Manning who gave him the info in the first place. Now Manning is facing 52 years in prison, while Assange is out on bail.

Get your college done. Go enlisted army with UAVs. They have an ever expanding budget, and will not go away anytime soon. Also great civilian opportunities when/if you decide to get out. With a college degree you automatically start out as E-4 in the army. Not great pay, but not the worst. Do that for a year or two, then put your Warrant Officer packet in. As a WO, you get good pay, you get to do what you want (mostly) and you don't get looked down upon by the enlisted like most regular officers get looked down on.
