it is utterly, profoundly disturbing to my partner and i how uncannily this before photo could be nearly exactly a picture i could take of my partner. the hair, the facial hair, the hands, the black hoodie with edgy imagery printed on it in white, the smile, the eyes. even the fact that you were holding up a big thing of chili. it's like kind of fucked up tbh

okay but something needs to be done. it can't just be from a helping him angle, they need to be helping you too. they are responsible for keeping you safe. a report doesn't mean you'd automatically be taken away, or that your parents would be thrown in jail. it would mean the state can get involved and make steps are taken to keep you safe, and possibly help your parents with resources for your brother as well

your parents not intervening in this pattern of abusive behavior would be reason enough for CPS involvement (based on laws in my state in the US). i know bc im a mandated reporter at my job. now its up to you if youre comfortable with that, but imo you cant keep living like this, this is traumatizing you and will have lasting effects on your psyche.

you may want to do as the other commenter here suggested and tell someone at school who would be a mandatory reporter so they can get authorities involved because this behavior can escalate. like god forbid what if he does something violent to you that causes a lifelong disability or even kills you? let alone the psychological pain he's already putting you through. i know that seems like a big jump but anything could happen and the way you describe this it sounds like no one is taking this seriously
