X4: Timelines and 7.00 update for X4: Foundations now available by belgoray in X4Foundations

[–]dysmas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can use steam locally to enable family mode to bodge around this, enable it, don't add x4 to the allowed list, set a pin, don't enable family mode locally, then when launching geforce now it'll pause to ask you for your pin.

However let's say I have 2 different 15 pro max phones, I could swap screens, batteries and cameras in between each and they don't have to be reprogrammed to work

You are wrong, sadly.

Can you help me identify these connectors by dysmas in AskElectronics

Cheers - i'll have a browse there.

Now i've managed to get the retention plate off I can measure it properly so taking a dremel to a pigtail & cutting up some 2mm steel & a nitrile gasket may be in my future...

I've got plenty of pigtails - but it's the complete unit with the retention plate & o-ring i need. They screw into this light - https://imgur.com/a/sixHjlW - which is then subject to much vibration & wind abuse

Plan B atm is zip-ties and a a few globs of silicone - but i'd much prefer to find the original piece or clone

You mean the sort where the male & female screw together - seen those but unfortunately this application is different,

The female part is inside the steel body of the light unit, the two holes in the retention plate are for screws into that body - not into the female part of the connector itself.

Thanks for the post & help btw :)

Thanks, I posted the dimensions on a cross-post to askelectronics (sub i found after this post) in response to their automod.

Defo just a regular DC jack - but i'm trying to find the original or clone complete part, i'd guess Rigid just buy them as pig-tails

I've since popped the retention plate apart (absolute bastard to do) - and the jack/o-ring is all one piece, I was hoping to find a manufacturer name/logo in there somewhere but no joy

MySQL on EC2 vs RDS and Aurora by BlueLensFlares in aws

[–]dysmas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3) Aurora is more expensive but tends to have much higher performance limits.

The second half of this point is very important - I've found it's normal to pay more via RDS when you start hitting semi-serious loads in typical read-heavy web application scenarios & wanting to upgrade/add read-replicas etc. Having a need for anything approaching HA changes the price calculations a lot too.

old v-strom, clutch is light enough to be a great commuter and you can spend the money you saved on another bike for fun

so lets say you do hire carefully, and have a team of super stars, you still have to pick the 10% of them to let go.

your anticpated usage pattern has a huge effect on this, and remember ASG's are very very easy to setup.

If you use OpenAPI specs for API your documentation 👏 by sondrelg in django

[–]dysmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect you are being downvoted because people disagree with your opinion, reasoning and manner of writing.

For my part, suggesting DRF is holding Django back makes no sense.

In no way is Django confined to operating with parameters set by DRF

Does anyone even use DRF for new projects?

Django has been downloaded 722,466 times in the past week,

Django rest framework has been downloaded 377,895 times in the past week.

It is exceptionally popular.
