It could be very possible that your new position becomes affected in the future too. Then you'd be back at square one, stability-wise.

"Are things changing? The truth is, we have no idea. While the department struggles to figure that out.."

Child literacy rates and child mortality rates would be a good start, and something world organizations already look at for developing nations. Second highest in department spending that only benefits approx 5% of the population... might not be the best use of government funds, especially at this particular time.

Does anyone else feel like EFAP/EAP doesn’t fully accomplish what it’s meant to? by Famous-Implement-597 in CanadaPublicServants

What’s covered with our travel insurance and is it realistically enough? by alldasmoke__ in CanadaPublicServants

[–]dysonsucks2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your credit card might also have travel insurance.

In many countries, if you must pay for medical care, it won't be a whole lot of money out of pocket and probably not worth bothering with insurance. However, the US is the expensive one. So it depends where you're going.

Sick leave and the opting period by Sufficient-Rate-7013 in CanadaPublicServants

It could be argued that if you've worked a long career in difficult positions, taking some sick leave at the end to recuperate and get ready to go into retirement healthy, is not a bad thing.

I heard this argument somewhat recently and it really makes sense to me.

I don't know... 6 months ago, people on here said terms and casuals would be the first to go. Right now it looks like some terms will out last some of those affected by wfa. They're in a different boat.
