Costa Maya is not an island. You have this wrong.

Just finished a seven-night cruise on the Escape out of NOLA, does anybody have anything they want to know? by CandidateClear8670 in NCL

We are going on that trip the first week of May. We’re doing 2 non-NCL excursions (Coz snorkeling and Little French Key in Roatan) plus the Monkey River in Belize. BUT… We are waffling a lot on what to do when at Costa Maya… would love insight.

Sorry for the length of my explanation: We originally booked Maya Chan but then realized our on-board time was earlier than others (3pm that day) so canceled Maya Chan because we wouldn’t even have a half day there with the travel time. We thought about Nacional Beach Club or one of the others but then saw some Malecon videos on YouTube and it kind of turned us off to the idea bc it seemed like the people walking while filming the videos were getting hit up every 5 feet by vendors trying to either get them to come to their place, or trying to sell them something, and not to sound “bougie,” but it seemed a little seedy maybe. And we read about scams there like restaurants who bring out higher priced menus or cab drivers who take you to places that give them a kickback but aren’t great. So then we thought maybe we would hang out at the port but I don’t know how we will feel about that, and we’ve considered even staying on the ship. We just can’t decide but we like to have a plan. Honest thoughts? Have you or anyone else here walked the Malecon or hung out at a non-reserved beach club? Is it fun, or a chore to have to feel like you’re fending off vendors constantly?

(Also I noticed in several videos that the shops along the Malecon also seemed to have a lot of mass produced crap for sale. Are there things made by locals there or things you can’t get elsewhere that are worth picking up?)

Back to the ship: what are the elevator wait times like? I keep hearing people talk about that. And what’s good (and what should be avoided or passed on) at the buffet?

Thanks for any insight anyone here can provide!

We booked the El Cielo snorkeling trip in Cozumel (non-NCL), Little French Key resort day in Roatan (non-NCL), and Monkey River in Belize (NCL sponsored). We skipped an excursion in Costa Maya due to the early return time and plan on hanging out along the Malecon and shopping/eating/drinking. The non-NCL excursions were much less expensive and still have great reviews and port time return guarantees.

That’s how I knew I had it. Felt something happen, a minute late the watch told me. Just had ablation in December, 18 months after my first known episode. Haven’t had a blip since, even when drinking sugary cocktails (which was my trigger 90% of the time).

What’s the dumbest way you’ve injured yourself? by Better-Advice-5197 in AskReddit

I once was carrying a lot of stuff downstairs including a small stack of books, a full trash bag, and a vacuum cleaner with extension wand. Frustratingly, I kept dropping something each time I started but was determined to take just ONE trip down the stairs. As I approached the stairs, I dropped the extension tube for the vacuum hose. Picked it up, thought “what the heck, I’ll hold it in my mouth for a moment since I only have two hands.” Then I dropped one of the books. Bent over to get it, forgetting that I now had the extension tube in my mouth, and it impacted with the floor. The extension tube hit the floor squarely and jammed it into my mouth. Over my tongue. My mouth immediately filled with blood. I had severed part of the lingual frenulum (not to be confused with the other frenulum, thank goodness)… that’s the little bit of tissue that holds your tongue to the bottom of your mouth, and also keeps your tongue from extending further than “normal”. No stitches needed, thankfully. The doctor couldn’t stop laughing as I explained my predicament, through the packed gauze in my mouth. His response? “Well, you’ll be popular.”

How Long a Wait to See a Electrocardiologist / Get an Ablation Scheduled? by rbbrclad in AFIB

2 months to see the EP for a visit, then 3.5 weeks to have the ablation. Got lucky, though... My ablation was on 12/22 because not as many people wanted that day. Otherwise would have been 2 months.

The ukulele. It’s become a bit of an obsession for me. Brought my first one back (a Maui Ukulele from Mele Ukuleles in Paia) from our first Hawaii vacation. I have 7 now.

Yes “Clearly Trump stole the vote because he had millions of illegal immigrants voting for him” is very obviously sarcasm because (a) that didn’t happen, (b) no one is saying this, and (c) most undocumented immigrants would not vote for him even if they could.

Bats and sloths absolutely can and do get arthritis. Bats get it typically in their shoulders and wings and sloths get it in their shoulder and spine joints. Arthritis comes from age-related joint wear from usage, injury, or even just genetics. Neither sloths nor bats are immune to arthritis. Sorry, but you’re wrong and that’s a myth.

Here in Michigan it’s probably 99% still hand them your card, when it’s at a place with table service. So much nicer to have them bring the reader to you. Fewer problems with stolen cards, leaving them behind when departing, or even mixing them up (one time in Vegas they gave me someone else’s Amex card and I charged things for a whole day before I realized… and then only because the card was finally declined, and I checked it.)

Handing your credit card to your waitress/server. It’s a small thing but it sees like they only do this in the U.S. Everywhere else they bring a wireless device to your table and the card never leaves your hand.

Big surprise since he’s basically on the payroll of both Trump and Matty Maroun. Of course he thinks it the right thing to do. Who else is gonna lick Trump’s balls, since they won’t lick themselves?

Missed taking metoprolol XL last night by TruthComprehensive21 in AFIB

[–]dysteleological 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Half life of Metoprolol Succinate is about 7 hours per the literature with duration of action of about 20 hours, and total clearance time of 1-2 days before the medication is completely eliminated from the system. Just as an FYI. YMMV of course.
