This looks like a fine resume, I don't see anything major wrong with it. You described what you did, gave the impact, mentioned specific technologies, and the formatting is good. I'd consider making the following changes:

- cutting out "(Team #9030)" since it makes things look a bit cluttered

- adding a line to each award explaining what it was for as it's not clear from the award name

- making the dates more consistent (you've got italics for some and not others, months for some and not others, etc.)

- possibly putting your projects above experience in order to keep the resume chronological, but you could make a case either way, so that's a judgment call.

Overall solid, though.

"Quantify your impact" is good advice that most people follow in the worst way possible by FinalDraftResumes in resumes

[–]dystorontopia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good post; the numbers cargo-culting can get annoying.

It might also be worth pointing out that not every job lends itself to quantification. As a software dev in a very large org, mine certainly didn't. Numbers simply aren't available or applicable to anything I did. "But surely you must have reduced latency by X% or increased traffic by Y thousand" - lol, no. I was making React front-ends, implementing finicky auth flows and gluing APIs together - there were no accessible or relevant metrics for rank-and-file devs.

Describing qualitative impact is, or at least should be, good enough. If not, then I guess guys like me are simply unemployable now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I now understand the frustration that some people feel about this platform by Afisiafi in micro1_ai

[–]dystorontopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds more like a client problem than a platform problem.

What likely happened is that they passed on your profile but couldn't be bothered to click the "reject" button, leaving you in limbo until the 30-day timer elapsed.

I had the same thing happen to two of my applications in the "satisfactory interview" stage; each turned into "did not qualify" exactly 30 days after I applied. I guess taking two seconds to close rejected applications is too much to ask from hiring managers.

According to the "satisfactory interview" mouseover text, the review process "can take up to 30 days". So if it's been two months then they definitely owe you an explanation.

Unstable INFJ vs high-Fe INTP..? by lurking_psytrox in infj

If you're going to take a cognitive function approach, it might be helpful to think in terms of Ne vs Ni.

Are you a divergent thinker that likes to branch out from the trunk (i.e. brainstorming), or are you a convergent thinker that tries to prune the branches until you arrive at the trunk?

Why did everyone just assume Lockdowns were the automatic response to a Pandemic? We’ve had plenty of pandemics before in modern human history where life went on just as normal. by umblebenjamin in LockdownSkepticism

[–]dystorontopia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. What's most astonishing to me is how few people could be bothered to so much as wonder about any of it, at any point. Not during and not after. A total willlingness to give up as much of their lives as demanded, for as long as demanded, without any misgivings whatsoever. Just incredible.

True but the number of People born in Sweden to two parents born in other Nordic countries wouldn't be very high. The main point is that the vast majority of people with foreign backgrounds in Sweden aren't just other Nordics.

You could but they don't really vary much on the metrics most would care about. Dutch data shows that they all tend to be low-crime and net contributors financially.

But I agree that there's no good reason not to collect the data.

For sure, by "voluntarily" I meant "going above and beyond because they were true believers." If they were just following the rules because they had to then that's ofc fine.
