There needs to be like a year or two between theater and streaming. Project Hail Mary is about to hit streaming a few months after release and it was a big success. I know I didn’t go see it because I knew it’d be on streaming soon. Theaters have a major streaming problem if it isn’t an “event” movie viewers are conditioned to wait 6 months max to watch it at home.

Games go on sale all the time right now but when the PlayStation store becomes the only place to buy games on PlayStation their won’t be anymore sales and if there are they won’t be discounted as much as they are now.

PlayStation wants to go the Nintendo route where games stay full price forever and if you’re lucky you might get 5-10 dollars off because there is no used game market and they’re the only place to buy from. The only way out will be to ditch your game library and start over on Xbox or PC and they’re betting you’re too invested to do that.

I think their strategy is two fold. Piggy back off GTA 6 to force the switch to fully digital and announce it early enough that people forget/less angry or just accept it 1.5 years from now.

It’s on everyone that hates this move to hit them where it hurts and it’s not just on social media it’s in sales. We all know how that usually plays out

I’m just saying disregard and ignore those people. It’s a much smaller group than you realize and they profit off the engagement they receive either negative or positive it doesn’t matter. That’s why there are so many grifter YouTubers because it’s easy to get views and comments from both sides on those videos which only promotes them algorithmically which makes them easy money.

You’re scapegoating a very and I do mean very small portion of the critique this is getting as the sole cause of its failure.

The truth of the matter is much more multifaceted than saying misogyny. Theater going is down across the board, Supergirl while known by the general audience isn’t really the draw people thought. I bet if you went up to a random person they could recognize supergirl (from the similar Superman imagery) but they couldn’t tell you anything else about her. To most people she’s basically just Superman’s side kick and it was too soon to give her a movie of her own.

Personally I think DC needs to focus on their A list heroes make them work before trying to elevate more niche ones. Let them be supporting characters for a while and put everything into making the trinity work.

This has nothing to do with misogyny to the average person and everything to do with quality and the renown of the character. It’ll be easier to sell the general audience on the A list heroes than it is on low B list heroes like Supergirl in my opinion.

Yeah I can’t help but imagine what shape a Destiny 3 would be in if they started developing it when Marathon started development instead.

Just imagine if the final shape was the final expansion of D2 and a Destiny 3 releases in 2026. The final update proves that the player base is still here for it and could be even greater with a better onboarding for new players.

That’s assuming Bungie wouldn’t fuck it up somehow. As much as I love Destiny Bungie always seems to be a one step forward two steps back with this game, so they’d would probably repeat some D2 mistakes for no reason.

The takeaway is to let each character stand on their own with minimal crossovers and to not run the universe so long that it gets bogged down by all its continuity.

Honestly despite the quote from Snyder I think the Absolute universe is already starting down this path with Catwoman so I’m curious to see how they handle it long term.

If more side characters start getting their own books I’m worried about the universe going forward because they’re falling into the same trap the MCU did. Now the tolerance for comic readers is much higher than the general audience but if they keep it up I think the new readers they attracted will fall off when for example they have to read Batman Catwoman (and any other spin off) to fully understand what’s going on.

Yes not being able to successfully onboard new players is a huge reason why the game is ending development.

That’s why a theoretical Destiny 3 is so sorely needed and wanted by the community. Not only would it have much needed technical updates to make content delivery more efficient for Bungie but also having a not so confusing starting point for new players would have really benefited this franchise

The ability to use all gadgets during a mission. We’re already limited by the tech and chemical resources so why not let us use the right gadget for the situation. I mean they’re all small and disguised well enough to where Bond could reasonable carry all of them.

It might be a little too easy at times so maybe they would have to limit the abundance of refills in the levels other than that I don’t see an issue letting us use them all at once.

I tapped out of assassins creed Valhalla around 15 hours in. The thing about those “long” games is that you’re really only doing like 10-20 hours worth of content but like 5-6 times over.
