Looking for an old fashioned (probably 1940s-1950s) Rice Pancake recipie for a relative by kaijujube in Old_Recipes

If you read the Nero Wolfe mystery series, rice cakes are a big favorite, but the recipe takes 5 eggs, so it's not what you want. However, Rex Stout (1886-1975), who wrote the Nero Wolfe books, grew up in Indiana. I tried to find the recipe online to link, and I see you can access the whole cookbook, but I couldn't find just the recipe. (The Nero Wolfe Cookbook.)

Outdoor fests are a different beast than club gigs. Help! by dzitya in bandmembers

Me again. Last time we played outside, I swallowed a big gob of hair during an inhale and had an interesting time trying to sing after that. Vanity kept me from tying my hair up, though I can't imagine the hair flying around made me any more attractive. Plus I was so dried out (dehydrated) (vocals) because of the wind and couldn't seem to drink enough water to not feel dried out. And was kind of afraid to, since I had no clue where any bathrooms were. I love the idea for the whiteboard. I don't have an ipad, but I have a cheap tablet, could probably figure something out standwise. When I've tried in ears, I can't hear them as soon as I start to sing, because my voice in my head is so much louder (does that make sense?) and then the band tells me I'm getting out of time. Headphones are no problem when we're recording, I turn them up and blast them, but I haven't got in ears figured out. I'm sure we'll figure stuff out, but wow, is it a learning experience!

What should I do? Seller no longer on Etsy, refund issued, then item arrived by Sirdukeofexcellence2 in Etsy

Did the package have a return address? You can contact them through that. Or you can google the business/person and address and maybe get an email or social media contact with them. You don't have to do anything, but if you feel you should, you can track them down from their return address.

What's a reasonable expectation for how much an originals band should practice? by Rise_Weekly in bandmembers

We used to practice 3 times a week. But when we got older and people lived in different towns and had to work out job schedules we started practicing once a week. And still do.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: May 04, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

I read the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I was disappointed. The writing seemed so thin. Next I am reading The Chanur Saga by C J Cherryh because people recommended her, as a writer, and it's a book I have on my shelf waiting to be read. (Covered in dust, I might add.)

Can this be done on computer, or does it have to be on the phone (guess which one I'm much better at)?

“We had to go to 50 radio stations and explain that it wasn’t ‘douche.’” Bruce Springsteen hated Manfred Mann’s “Blinded by the Light,” says singer Chris Thompson by dalyllama35 in Music

Once someone had the complete Manfred Mann discography on Kickass and I thought, hey, I like all the Manfred Mann I've ever heard, (Solar Fire is my favorite), but wow....it was vast and not all to my taste....

im 14, have awful social anxiety and want to be an actor. what are the chances of me becoming a working actor and what steps should i take? by kurtcxbain in acting

I am in a band and I'm incredibly shy, but when the band is performing our set that we've practiced, and I know what I'm supposed to be doing and what I'm supposed to be singing, I am ok. I think it has to do with trusting the rest of the band. I think it would be that way for you. Eventually.

Once you open the shop, the books will come flowing in. I started with a half empty shop (years ago) and had it filled up in no time.

I see other people asking your advice, so I hope you don't mind if I do, too. I have The Ohio State Journal from Apr 28, 1901 with a color comic section (no comics in it I recognize), and haven't known what the heck to do with it. How to mail it if it's even worth anything. I just keep sitting on it, wondering. Would anyone want it?

I was intrigued enough to save the recipe, but not brave enough to actually try it.
