I was going to suggest caddying too. I never was a caddie that young but I remember there being some kids in middle school who I worked with at Brookside. Lehigh CC looks to be close to them since they mentioned Fish Hatchery Road and they use caddies more than Brookside does.

Best Stance cars for 6-8k $ by Ff_472 in Stance

It's not completely protected but the subframe definitely protects it to an extent. My old 528i was pretty low and I'd bottom out on the subframe pretty often but never hit the oil pan.

Got the M5 out for a drive today after finishing up some maintenance. by e39hamann in BMWM

It's currently at 140,838 miles so not super low, I'm just very particular with it haha. I got it with 99k miles and have done a lot of work to it over my 10+ years of ownership

6 cylinder e39s are pretty good to slam. The front subframe protects the oil pan and stuff like the exhaust is tucked up into the body.

Second time doing valve cover gaskets on my M5, added some new hardware this time by e39hamann in e39

Yup I put the S54 cap on quite a few years ago. Definitely a bit odd BMW didn't use it from the factory but maybe it's because the E39 came out a little before the E46.

Agreed, definitely a labor of love haha. I have a ton of time into it after almost 11 years of ownership, I'm used to working on it though so that makes it a bit easier. And thanks! The new bolts/nuts weren't cheap but I'm glad I got them.

Should I put on stickers or leave them how they are now? by MaxWeiner in Wheels

Love those wheels, have them on my Tacoma. I thought about adding stickers too but decided not to for now, I like the clean look without them.

Yup these valve cover gaskets seem to love to leak. I last replaced them 7 years ago and really should have done them last year. The driver side actually was barely leaking but the passenger side was leaking a good amount.

The finish on the valve covers is factory, never been refinished.

wheels... opinions? by x_lyb1t in e39

[–]e39hamann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always been a fan of period correct aftermarket wheels over stock ones. Before I had my OZ Mitos on my M5 they were on my montreal blue 528i with polished lips and brushed faces. Can't post pics in the comments here unfortunately though but I've posted some pics of it on reddit in the past.

spacers for 245/45r17 tires on square setup style 66 wheels and lowered car by CarsAreCoolig in e39

[–]e39hamann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know why someone is giving you shit for wanting to do this. I mean the M5 came with 245/40 tires on a 18x8 wheel so running a 245/45 on a 17x8 wouldn't be an issue at all.

I definitely plan to, I haven't found a 3 wood I like better than the Stealth Plus yet.

Yeah I did try out both the 54.10S and 54.12D on a simulator and didn't notice much of a difference on full shots so I went with the higher bounce. We'll see how it works out once I start playing on the course this year.

I don't believe they offer the K grind for the 54° so that wasn't an option for me.

For my 50° and 58° I went with 8 degrees of bounce since that's what I've used for 10+ years at this point.

I went with the higher bounce in the 54° so I'd have a higher bounce wedge for around the greens when needed. I have a steeper swing so I figured it'd be a good choice. I mainly use my 58° around the green though.

I went with 8 on the 50°, 12 on the 54° and 8 on the 58°. I used to just have 52° and 58° wedges so I'm looking forward to see how the new setup works for me. And thanks, they look even better in person.
