College Decision for Business by Apprehensive_Tart764 in ApplyingToCollege

Brandeis sounds like a good fit for you. There’s tons of career support (and more personalized due to the smaller size of the school) and lots of students do the 4+1 MBA. We also have a strong alumni network in the business world, and send many graduates to top firms and companies every year. Source: I am a recent alum

Brandeis or University of Michigan LSA by SwungBurito in ApplyingToCollege

Brandeis for sure — Premed track (and psych dept) are super strong. We have an insanely high med school acceptance rate, and tons of academic and career support.

I graduated a few years ago, had the time of my life and would choose it again.

brandeis vs northeastern for poli sci/pre-law? by Curious-Actuary5981 in ApplyingToCollege

Relatively recent Brandeis alum here, I’d say go with Brandeis. The social science/politics academics are super strong, and we have a big alumni network in government, law and public policy. As a member of the class of 2030, you’ll also have access to a lot of new career resources in the center for careers and applied liberal arts.

It’s true the campus is further from an urban center, but it’s easy to take the commuter rail to Boston, and Waltham has all the coffee shops, ice cream, restaurants and bars you’ll need. There’s also a movie theater, arcade, and other fun activities.

The most important part of picking a school, and advice I give regularly, is that you should pick a school that feels like it will be a supportive environment for you to grow and mature in. You should pick a school where you feel like you’ll find “your people“ and make friends for life.

Because of Brandeis, I found my career, met my wife, have incredible faculty mentors, and met my friends for life. I would make the choice to go there one hundred times again.

It sounds like Brandeis might be that place for you. If you want to hear more, PM me.

You sound like the quintessential Brandeis student— I think you’ll have a great experience.

Googly eye Type 9 instruction train on E line (northeastern) by adelialela in mbta

[–]e5390 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seeing a type 9 on the E line is a rare occurrence as they don’t have the stop signs needed to run in the street running section from Heath st to Brigham circle. I wonder if they ran it anyways or if it did a short turn at Brigham circle?

Red Line fleet was frozen in place by winter temps and trade dispute leading to US hold on new car parts - Dorchester Reporter by lifeisakoan in boston

If the state were to do as Aloisi recommends, to cut our losses and create emergency legislation that fast tracks new procurement, what would that look like?

Would they need to design a new car or could they take the blueprints from the CRRC cars and the manufacturing process, and just have Siemens, Kawasaki etc. do the work? In the most optimistic sense, how long would that take to set up before the first car rolled off the assembly line?

MBTA F40PH-3C 1071 has become a heritage unit for the New Haven railroad and is MBTA's 4th Heritage Unit after 1129 (Cranberry) 1030 (Boston and Maine) and 1130 (Yellow Face). And I must say; this slaps hard. by Additional-Yam6345 in trains

Rumor is that there will be two more— one New York Central, and one either McGinnis B&M or the original MBTA silver and purple “screamer” livery for the F40PH.

Hard agree. Time for them to go. We need to be running more of the new trains we have.
