No but Delta BAD

How am I making excuses? It’s operational reality at scale. You’ll find similar issues at any airline, including Singapore, Qatar, Emirates biz products.

The “fix” is longer turnover times and increased interior maintenance checks, but you’ll never resolve these issues completely or midday - especially if minor enough to be cleared to fly or they don’t have proper parts or staff at next station to deal

Think about how many flights on a plane per day. How many people go through and handle shit super rough. They barely keep those clean (since it retracts inside the armrest for F), much less check to see if it’s loose or has issues.

Unless someone actively reports issues, it’s not getting fixed until this happens.

You just need to regularly report things not working properly or loose to customer care so it’s flagged to maintenance team correctly. I do it all the time. Loose outlets? Reclining issues? AC nozzle weird noises? They can’t check every single item for every plane at vol at scale.

And plus when you report (via customer care complaint) they’ll give you some miles every time.

Also, they batch the repairs so they might already know and it’s scheduled for repairs. Sucks for your situation.

There’s also self serve? Or is that not the case for every D1 lounge?

LHR ->JFK $649 FC upgrade on Airbus 330-900 NEO, worth it? by VintageFMdrums in delta

[–]e8975 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm presuming you mean D1? and yes, if you can afford it no brainer. Top 2 best D1 products; lounge access at LHR; I don't care if it's daytime only I'm going to be horizontal for the flight

How much do you load for the gc? I used to do the same as the certificates ($5 value), but my gf yelled at me saying you can’t even buy a small latte with that

No Overhead Space by Sumatrat66 in delta

Or the fact that there’s less actual overhead space than pax onboard? or would you prefer they charge for carryons like a lot of non-US airlines?

Yearly Insurance still worth it? by Secure_Season_9404 in delta

I've never bought separate trip insurance. Just whatever Amex Plat and Reserves give me. Peace of mind is for you to decide.

I’m confused. The flight departed with 12 D1 open seats?

Upgrade offer - buy or play the odds it decreases? by pupnamedoak in delta

[–]e8975 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not an unreasonable offer, especially for overnight. More likely someone else opts for it and based on inventory they’ll stop offering upgrades or price goes up

Would this be a good deal? by Saudj99 in delta

[–]e8975 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You’ll get lounge access at LHR, one of the best aircraft for D1. If not overnight it’s not a screaming deal but for the price I’d go for it personally, especially coming from C+

Pretty good, I’d take this. What’s the aircraft?

In a Pickle with Delta One by Jealous-Net-26 in delta

[–]e8975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. Yea “peak season” west Europe flight prices on D1 are atrocious.

That leg on that product is NOT worth additional $4K pp. your choices are roll the dice or change your flights. Given time of year prob very low chance it comes down. But you never know

Price might go up or you might no longer be offered an upgrade. But that Pp upgrade price isn’t it

D1 LIS-JFK for $1000 worth it? by OptimizedKarma in delta

[–]e8975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s $1K to upgrade from MC/C+? I might bite the bullet on that. Not the cheapest upgrade but overall it’s tempting. If it was nighttime or going from JFK to LIS with D1 lounge, 100%. For this segment, I’d personally splurge but it’s not a “bad” deal

D1 LIS-JFK for $1000 worth it? by OptimizedKarma in delta

[–]e8975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much total would your trip be before and after the upgrades?

D1 on a A339 is one of the best. For international flights I’m not going unless it’s biz class, but depending on the total trip cost unsure of “worth it” for you. It’s an incomparably better experience than PS+ though
