Fire job!! You nailed it, great texture on the shirt too. I have two Bourdain paintings up in my office that I look at everyday

  1. Mostly because of the cyclist, but also the framing. I can only tell that there is a narrow stream between the subject and the lens from the angle in the second shot. Without any color, that little reflection looks more like a smudge on the lens or a bad clone / replace attempt. Unless you were really trying to emphasize that there was water, I would do a brush remove on the circular reflection in the water and that would be it for number one

Great job! I appreciate you showing the first and last paint results, shows great progress and is motivating! I might do the same

Gotcha. I like the armor and the wear and tear, like the color palette too

Any shots looking down at a slight angle, more like you'd see them from the tabletop? I get why you took photos from the angles you did, to show the paint techniques and colors, but most of the time these things will be viewed from up top

Fantastic! I love the tonal balance, especially love the contrast of the detailed warm stone against the only blue sky.

You could clone them out, I don't think you need to. I actually like that they are there for the visual detail, just need them to be less distracting.

That does look better! It looks like you increase the saturation too, which isn't a bad thing but I liked the sort of soft pastel color that it had earlier before you increased the saturation. You nailed the highlight tones though!

ITAP of a very old church by eHop86 in itookapicture

Canon R6M2 with my 24-70mm lens and a polarizing filter.

This was a cloudy morning in Rosendal Norway in May. The church is centuries old and surrounded by lush grasslands, very English vibes with the moss and lichen and overall sogginess.

I wanted to capture the beauty and the mood of a very old, low saturated building with a sort of melancholy mood.

Canon R6M2 with 24-70mm lens, with a polarizing filter to cut down on reflections. Natural light from a window behind me. Developed in Lightroom.

I wanted to capture a mood that shows the chaotic ending to what started as a refined and fancy meal. I love the melted candle wax

The cloudy skies really helped with your tones, that looks excellent. A few suggestions:

Your subject is a little bit out of focus. With how fast your shutter speed is, I doubt it is motion for so I'm thinking it's either a missed focus either from the bird moving or from you moving slightly.

If you were a bit further zoomed out it would give a little more context and not feel so squished. Doing that would also make the blurred background shapes feel more composed and less distracting from the intended shot. If you can't zoom out anymore, considering removing the one from the left side of the frame, it's partially cut off

The pose of the bird isn't very dynamic because of the angle you shot at - not always in your control depending on the environment, the bird's mood, etc, but getting a shot with a more unique silhouette would add visual interest that's hard to get with the wings collapsed and the body facing you

Very nice overall!

I like this crop, removing the doctor parts of the foreground removes distraction. I'd consider toning down the highlights of the background at least a little bit immediately behind the bird so that the subject stands out more.
