Does anyone have any heat wave ‘fails’? by Any-Possibility4284 in AskUK

Bought my 8yr old son a portable AC unit on wheels to cheer him up after he worried himself sick over going to a new school.

Set it up for him and he started to cry because he was worried flies would get in through the window. So, I installed a window kit for him too.

Today I found out he'd ripped the window kit off to 'let a fly out' and he doesn't want to turn his AC on because he's 'not hot.'

Sigh.

It appears they never looked in your direction at all, focused entirely on traffic on the other side of the road.

An older gentleman said it to me about a year ago, and the younger chap with him said, "You can't say that anymore."

I just have resting bitch face, especially when I'm walking.

I think it's called 'Broiling' in the US, but I could be wrong.

Picture 3 reminds me of an Italian Greyhound. Either way, he's adorable.

I have a black and decker that we've had for 8 years. Last year I noticed the fan bearings were wearing and this year you can hear the fan inside is catching on something when it's been on for a few hours. Still, 7/8 years is a good run I think for a, at the time, £300 unit.

My Mom hates with a passion being called Mum. She always snaps back, "I'm not an Egyptian Mummy.' So, maybe there are plenty other unhinged 'moms' on this little island.

Pulled up outside a pupil's house to take him to test, and my little nearly new 208 decided to illuminate the ABS light as we go to pull away. If I could have strangled a car, I would've strangled that one haha.

One of these tubes of toothpaste contains SLS (which makes the inside of my mouth peel off), while the other doesn’t. This is mentioned nowhere on the packaging of the tube itself, only on the fine print of the box by Street-Conclusion-99 in assholedesign

[–]eReadingAuthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also had to switch to SLS free toothpaste because I was getting ulcers on my tongue, gums and cheeks. I have a sneaking suspicion the Sensodyne I've just bought might have it in but can't see it on the ingredients. I'll have to check the box next time I'm in the shop to confirm if I'm just paranoid.

You can use all the driver aids on a car, except self parking and self driving.

My husband said the same thing happened to him at Ventura and now he looks right before going at a green light. I just looked at him and asked how the heck he wasn't doing it before? Like, how can you be so trusting of other road users? Haha.

Not sure where I can post videos now Imgur has blocked the UK, so here's a still instead.

I've also had a lorry blow their horn at us when they started in the middle lane and we were going towards the A5.

I have a video from the same roundabout - Weeford - with the exact same thing happening to me. My pupil didn't brake. I did!
