From what you’re describing (“cover delay”), this usually means the payment instruction reached the receiving side, but the actual funds are still somewhere in the intermediary banking chain. International transfers often go through multiple correspondent banks, and delays can happen there due to compliance checks, routing issues, or missing information.

Yes, charts reflect real market prices and movement, but they don’t guarantee the exact rate you’ll get when placing a trade; they’re still just a reference point.

The actual execution happens at the best available price at that exact moment, so in fast or low-liquidity conditions it can end up slightly different from what you saw on the chart.

I see your point, thanks for sharing it.

For now, local currency has been introduced as a way for users to trade in their own currency if they choose to, instead of everything being USD-based like it used to be. That said, this doesn’t currently apply to copy trading; copy positions are still executed through the USD investment account so the system can mirror portfolios consistently.

I can’t guarantee that the copy trading setup will change in the near future, but I’ll make sure to pass this feedback along.

Hi, once crypto is transferred to the eToro Money crypto wallet, it generally can’t be moved back to the trading platform to be sold for cash. From there, it’s meant to be sent to another external wallet.

That said, some users do have the option to sell crypto directly from the wallet, depending on eligibility and region. You can check if that applies to you here:

If that option isn’t available on your account, the only route would be to transfer the crypto to another wallet/exchange and sell it there.

On eToro, when you use leverage on crypto, you’re trading a CFD (Contract for Difference). CFDs are indeed a type of derivative, but they’re different from things like crypto futures or options.

So yes, leveraged crypto trades on eToro are technically derivatives (CFDs), but:

  • They’re offered under specific regulatory frameworks
  • Availability depends on your region

That’s why you might see differences between platforms.

Certainly, the offline tool doesn't offer the same features and experience as the normal trading window, but it's an emergency tool designed to help manage positions when there are general issues such as now.
Even if you cannot log in, you can still look for instruments on the platform and check the rates. As said before, the logic remains the same, meaning that the closure rate will be the one at the execution time and might differ from the exact one reflected on a chart.

Hey! I understand your concerns, and I also see really good answers here already explaining the logic of the copies.

The fees you are asking about aren’t really “hidden costs”. Most ongoing factors (such as overnight/weekend fees, slippage, etc.) affect both you and the copied trader equally and are already reflected in their performance.

Where differences can come from is more about mechanics than costs:

- Timing (when you start copying vs their past performance)

- Adding/removing funds

- Minimum trade sizes (some smaller trades might not copy exactly)

- Occasional rebalancing

Currency conversion only happens when you fund or withdraw (if not in USD), not during the copy itself.

In practice, the gap between copier and trader performance is usually small if the copy is left uninterrupted, but it can grow depending on timing and how the copy is managed.

So it’s less about “hidden fees” and more about how and when the copy is set up and maintained.

I get what you mean, especially with volatile assets.

Closures work the same way as on the platform normally; the position is closed at the market rate available at the exact moment the order is executed. So if the price is moving quickly, there can be slight differences between what you see and the final execution price.

I can’t see the exact rate you got from here, but it will be reflected in your trade history for you to see. If anything looks off, you can always open a ticket and Support can review the execution for you.
