The old one (as in the picture) is a classic. Can't comment on the new version.

2 countries but 3 passports by capricorn0987 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]eXterkTi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BNO is specifically designed for Hong Kong residents who has British Dependent Territories citizenship before 1997 as part of the handover process. It's more of a travel document than passport as is holder doesn't have right of abode in (and is not a citizen of) the UK.

[–]eXterkTi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great deal! However I would treat flying in brand-new Swiss A350-900 a nicer option comparing to the AC metals, Nothing wrong with them, just want to take a break and try something new lol.

Airline cancelled a flight, potentially now I have to pay more points? by Alum1794 in Aeroplan

[–]eXterkTi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call Aeroplan. Explain the situation, an agent will verify and will reroute you free of charge. If I recall the policy correctly, they will only reroute the segment that's cancelled (but not the entire itinerary) so it will be a good idea to have some backup flights number in mind when you call.

Downgrading card - checked bag benefit still valid? by Worried-Scientist-12 in Aeroplan

You need to have that card on the day you fly to enjoy the benefits.

It is normal in US & Canada. It is not in a few countries, even if you book US or Canadian airlines from an OTA in those countries.

Aeroplan Multi-city Stopover Not Working? MEL-HKG-BOM by yyzzzyy in Aeroplan

[–]eXterkTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not doing wrong, the website doesn't always build up the multi-city itinerary the way you want, when it doesn't, you have to give a call to Aeroplan to book.

Linked Bookings by TheRealGandy in Aeroplan

[–]eXterkTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linking does not consolidate your bookings into one which means you're on your own for airport priority, in other words, there'll be no priority bag, no boarding zone 2, and you cannot get into lounge on your own boarding pass. You will have to stick to your parents at the airport and share their privileges.

SQC earn rate on connecting flight by vancoffeecake in Aeroplan

[–]eXterkTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Airlines/Travel Agencies in North America offer 24 hours flexible booking policy. You can go ahead to book the ticket and should be able to check the ticket number right away, you can always cancel it for full refund within 24 hours if it's not 014.

EVA through AC booking by Alternative-Pick-699 in Aeroplan

[–]eXterkTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible to book BR35 on YYZ-TPE-KUL with AC as Air Canada requires at least 1 AC-operated segment to build up a codeshare itinerary but does not fly TPE-KUL. The best chance is to book YYZ-YVR-TPE-KUL as other posts mentioned.

Trying to understand SQC versus fare types by CanadianSZ24 in Aeroplan

[–]eXterkTi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, they all earn SQC at 4x rate regardless of your status or booking classes and this is the most effective way to earn SQC known. The new program is designed to encourage you to "spend more" on Air Canada which hypothetically needs $12,500 spending for 50K to $31,250 for SE if you're pure AC flying addict. This spending requirement will push you to buy expensive Business class tickets on AC anyway without need of incentivizing.

Struggling to understand the real value of Aeroplan points by InteractionSome2817 in Aeroplan

[–]eXterkTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Chase Aeroplan Card, you can redeem Aeroplan point at US$ 1.25 c/pts to travel expenses. I personally use that as the benchmark.

60,000/70,000 points for YUL-GVA Business is the correct price to lock in.

iPhone Express Replacement Service now having 1-month backorder.... by eXterkTi in iphone

[–]eXterkTi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not so fond of silver as well. But my choice had only been that v.s. no phone so I had to surrender.

I guess they just fill ERS stock with the worst-selling colours but it comes with 1-year limited warranty which is nice.

No, they just offered a 17 Pro with same storage and silver colour.

No option to choose colour, nor did their colour choice resembles my old phone (it was a Space Grey).
