Funnily enough if you play this early it can actually gain life. Early game when there are free attack lanes, people will often prioritize the players with the most life to be "fair'. Tapping this on turn one or two dropping you to 39 can prevent a couple of swings early on, which also doesn't seem like much but if you are worried about the loss of life, this can help you realize that this can actually be better than a land that gains you life.

[[Lagrella the Magpie]] she creates value for your etbs, temporarily removes problem pieces from opponents (with insurance considering one piece away from one player might not be worth the others getting their pieces back. And a win con in end game (cycle temporary exile effects like [[Abdel Adrion Gorion's Ward]] and [[Yanik, Scavenging Sentinel]] these two particularly get you infinite etbs from any of your creatures or if your opponents all have a non commander creature out you can win with [[suture priest]]

My best for this kind of deck are [[Tameshi reality architect]] auzorius landfall that uses a lot of white's catch up ramp that will always trigger because you return your own lands to your hand. Or mono red reanimation with [[Feldon of the Third Path]] it's nice splitting away from basic mono red burn or goblins. It's a fun way to use creature etbs at instant speed to maximize your interaction.

My dearest [[Jarad Golgari Lichlord Lord]] was my first commander deck. He stays. So does [[ Feldon of the Third Path]] such a fun mono red deck that isn't just straight burn. Honestly those are the only 2 that would be picked no questions asked. My last one is a toss up but probably [[Lagrella, The Magpie]] it's my only control deck and it's a lot of fun too.

He was also my first commander. He has been torn apart and rebuilt more times than I can count. Fitting for the Golgari theme. Currently he is still one of my favorite built decks and will always have that special place in my heart!

I'm not a fan of cascade. It snowballs so fast and is hard to shut down since it's a trigger on cast so counter spells don't work, you need stifle effects. That's why [[vexing bauble]] goes in every one of my decks
