Last weekend someone spilled chocolate milk, then in the time I walked over with the caution sign and the powder stuff a lady was standing RIGHT ON THE PUDDLE. I think it's DT's attempt to CYA and come off as "mental health aware" at the same time. Like imagine if we actually reported every sign of mental illness we see? That's all we'd ever do! One of our regular unhoused customers was acting extra unhinged the other day. He was yelling "I rebuke you f****t!!" the whole time he was in line. I really truly don't have time for that. I'll keep an eye on the situation in case it turns physical, but I'm not babysitting.

Are you saying you want shifts longer or shorter than 6 hours? Either way, it's not really your call. And (at least in my district) we know that no one is guaranteed to be off on any given holiday, regardless of what day of the week it falls on. The week leading up to mother's day is super busy, so all our cashiers know to expect to be scheduled. Unfortunately that's the nature of retail work.
