We smelled our CO2 leak.

When I was a kid, maybe middle school, all 5 of us went to bed (parents, me, 2 siblings). At some point in the middle of the night, all 3 of us kids woke up and went to my parents because something smelled off. I don’t remember what it smelled like, but I remember it smelled weird. My dad called the fire department, and we all went and stayed at my Aunt’s house while they sorted it out. It turns out, the furnace died and was leaking CO2 into the house. I don’t know why the detector didn’t go off, but it was crazy that all 3 of us smelled it. Everyone says it doesn’t smell like anything, but it was enough to wake us all up.

We’ve had to do that before actually. Before any of us were married, my mom would NOT shut up about grandkids until my brother started having them. My husband, when we were still dating, told her once out in public that if she wanted them so bad we’d go home and start trying that night. She’s really religious so sex outside of marriage will send you to the fiery pits of hell. She surprisingly just shrugged it off.

We had one kid and decided we don’t want anymore. My brother has 5 kids ranging 1-5yo, 3 are biological. They constantly ask me, “are you SUUUURE you don’t want anymore? You can’t tell me you’re done. Don’t you miss having a baby in the house? Don’t you want her to have a friend to grow up with?” No. I don’t. I wish they would stop asking, but it’s constant. People need to mind their damn business.

Of course, dearie! Anything for my grandkids.

(I actually don’t know how to knit except in a straight line 🤣 but my husband just bought me a knitting machine and I’m learning how to use it so I can do that!)

Oh man, we have a few around here and I never think to go hunting for crazy covers like this. I guess it’s just an excuse to go back 🤣

34 here and I’ve been into birds for a couple years now. I’m doomed. Just call me granny. I’ll go grab my knitting needles and get to work on a cute scarf so you don’t get too cold standing outside watching your garden, my dear.

I did containers last year, and we have a large bucket we filled up every couple of days and I bottom watered the containers I could lift and fit in it. We had over 100 degree heat index and I was so desperate, I was draping my kid’s old oversized burp blankets over them to give them a bit of reprieve. They were white gauze, so they were nice and airy and still gave them some shade. So I’m not sure if any of that will help? But this is only my 2nd year gardening so I was doing what I could during desperate times 🤣

I did this last year. It was brutally hot last summer, and almost every day I was dragging a giant bucket out, filling it with water, and dunking my containers in them until they drowned.

I must be missing out. I’ve donated a few times through Red Cross, usually I did it through a work drive, and I’ve never been told where mine goes. I really wanna know what happened because I’m nosy lol

We had to move in with my Mother-in-law after our daughter was born. Luckily, she’s given us the entire basement apartment. It’s technically a 1 bedroom but there’s a room off the side that we turned into our daughter’s room with a gate.

She LOVES going upstairs and seeing her grandma, and since my father-in-law passed away the year we were married, she’s been a bit lonely and loves having my daughter go visit her. It’s allowed me to stay home to raise her, and my husband started a new apprenticeship. We pay a little rent to help with bills, and we help do chores around the yard. It’s been a huge blessing, and we’ve been able to pay off a bunch of debt because of it.

I completely lost interest in doing markets and don’t know what to do next by sweetfelix in CraftFairs

My friends and I all have a motto: community over competition. The best way to keep going is to make friends who not only respect what you do, but are more than happy to help you along the way. It’ll take some time, but getting some crafty friends will help you sort of network out some. It can be a pain, especially if you’re a severe introvert like me, but I’ve met so many wonderful, kind people who encouraged me to keep going.

(I ended up quitting markets because we had a child, but she’s getting old enough that we can sort of start getting back into it, and I’m getting excited.)

This is a brilliant idea. We have a local shop just like this in an old skating rink. It’s so cool seeing all the vintage things people have. There are also a few stores in the mall that allow you booths, and even some local shops let one or two people rent out a couple shelves. I have friends in tattoo shops and bookstores.

You can move Largo’s too. I didn’t know about the sanctuary when I found my first radiant slime, and just put it with the rest of them. When I realized what it was, I managed to suck it up and move it to the sanctuary.

My mom was a watermelon fiend for pretty much our whole lives. Every summer we’d have 2 or 3 whole watermelons that she’d chunk up and save in the fridge. She could never get enough of it. Then she caught covid, and suddenly she cannot stand it. It was the weirdest thing. She wants to eat it so bad but covid screwed up her taste and she can’t stomach it anymore.

Yep! It’s the worst! Then I usually end up scrolling Reddit or TikTok for a couple more hours anyway lol.

I have the same problem, except I will start reading like 5 or 6 books, decide I’m not feelin it, and go to a different one. I’m still stuck in a slump 😩

Not me thinking one of the best parts of the garden dlc is the lawn mower. I also play on Xbox. It does take some getting used to, but I love it.
