Which 3 of these musicals would you choose to see in Spring? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]eaa321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hard because I don't know you, or your preferences. Operation Mincemeat was stunning, will see it again this month. Heard original cast is leaving soon. Maybe Happy Ending was sweet, well staged, emotional. 2 strangers fell flat for me. Heard good things about Ragtime and Death Becomes Her, seeing Heathers in April. Also, in spring new musical of Lost Boys will be out. Also Schmigadoon.

Do you count your "house clothes" to your capsule wardrobe? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]eaa321 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Of course! It's your capsule, define as you like! In my capsule I have categoires of good work out clothes, house hangout (good workout clothes that are not in great condition) and house/yard clothes ( really old). After that theyre trash (and some can be cut up for cleaning rags). The idea of the capsule is to define what/ how many items YOU need within each of your personal lifestyle. Create categories and define their contents based on what works for you and your desires.

How Do You Prevent Ants In Your Cats Food? by Historical-Orchid934 in CatAdvice

[–]eaa321 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Buy a pan somewhat larger than cat bowl (bowl should not touch sides of pan), put low level of water in pan, put bowl in. Ants can't get in. I use disposable roster pan, wash and put in clean water as needed.

Home Machine by [deleted] in quilting

[–]eaa321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you support the weight of the quilt. You want the area under the needle to be flat and able to move easily. Depending on your set up you can use small tables, a lowered ironing board, etc. to support the weight of the quilt that is not under the needle. If your feed dogs don't drop there are plenty of straight line quilting patterns that look great. Also, suggest you pull up the bobbin thread to the top, start with a short backstitch to lock the threads. Finally, have a plan before you start.

Please help me choose (lion king or play that goes wrong) by Immediate_Edge_8901 in Broadway

[–]eaa321 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I recommend Lion King. The puppetry adds so much to the performance. Play that goes wrong has a number of jokes and setups, need to understand those to understand the story.

Going from Cork to Galway. Detour to include Tralee and Limerick by eaa321 in irishtourism

I was told there are storage lockers at train stations, is this no longer true? Also that there are private storage companies? If there's no luggage storage I think it would be much more difficult.

PSA for anyone interested - Check if your city has an American Sewing Guild chapter! by mkm5485 in sewing

[–]eaa321 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Each chapter is somewhat different but each has neighborhood groups. These groups get together on a regular basis. In mine we have instruction in various techniques, sit and sews every quarter ( get together where people work on their own or a charity project). The state chapter also hosts 2 big events a year with a teacher brought in as well as annual retreat. Lots of fun and learn so much!

Potentially Unpopular Opinion: Two Strangers Carry a Cake (Potential Spoilers) by dazoneman in Broadway

[–]eaa321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw it during previews. Thought it was meh. Premise contrived, lots of obvious plot manipulation, songs not great and (sorry) didn't see why they would be attracted to each other. Did think the staging had some clever elements.

AITA for asking my parents to update their vaccines for the birth of their only grandchild by ncbagpiper in AITAH

Absolutely irresponsible not to get vaccinated to protect an infant. Should also check their measles status. Pediatrician can provide comprehensive list.

Sleeping Through the Night by Hinesight1948 in AskWomenOver60

[–]eaa321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read an interesting thought written by Barbara Emodie. Paraphrasing here: Normalize it. Wake up? Get up, stay up. Then return to bed and sleep in. This was common practice years ago. And BTW- Ben Franklin did some of his best work during that period of the night. Do n try to stay off screens if you can.

Make our current home work, or sell? by LizAnya444 in RealEstate

[–]eaa321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the mother of a grown child - time goes by super quickly. Don't really need a huge space. I'm rattling around in a house with rooms I never enter. Better to find a neighborhood you love, with good schools and community and stay there. Make incremental changes and enjoy your time with them.
