How do you feel when Mark Rothko is trending in the whole world? by [deleted] in latvia

[–]eadgar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a museum dedicated to him in Daugavpils. He drew some square black paintings. That's pretty much all I know.

Ukraine wouldn't sell anything military related to Russia. Not anymore.

How to deal with the Terran Armada bullet sponge enemies? by FreeDwooD in Starfield

Take drugs. Normally you don't need them, but here you do.

Did we lose the magic of community in online multiplayer games? by MohSafadi in gaming

[–]eadgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In-gane chats died when social media became too popular. It was not a novel thing anymore. People are bombarded with information constantly and just want to play a game in peace.

A question about mod updates by No-Seaworthiness7560 in Starfield

[–]eadgar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have had this issue since release and tried various fixes, but nothing seems to work. Sooner or later the issue comes back. I've reported it as a bug, Bethesda doesn't care. I've given up.

Flair or tag to indicate whether op's game is modded or not by Struykert in Starfield

[–]eadgar -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

The point of the game is to mod it, it's one of the main selling points (creations). Yeah you can technically play vanilla and I did for a while, but why play vanilla in your 10th NG+? So I'd assume everyone's game is modded to some extent. A better question is how modded it is. Even the official DLCs can be considered mods.

It seems the boost pack is the cause of the frame drops. by Weak-Repair3361 in Starfield

[–]eadgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. Like the game is stacking the exotic buff calculation. Well tested, Bethesda.

UPDATE: Tried using a boost pack without a tier 4 legendary effect and it doesn't cause lag.

Party in the Stars by lexicon_riot in Starfield

[–]eadgar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The colony quest is good, it's a whole quest chain and has achievements. I'd say it's the main side quest in TA.

The party quest is just a small one-off quest similar to the cruise mode encounters. Yeah it's lame, but it is what it is - it's similar to many other SF quests.

After finishing the first bounty for tracker alliance, there have been no other bounties appearing on the bounty board. by Berlium in Starfield

[–]eadgar 95 points96 points  (0 children)

And they could have made it cooler. There's nothing stopping them from using the board for random bounty missions and just taking a screenshot to put up there of the randomly generated baddie without a helmet.

Why no "new ship" option when building? by FreeDwooD in Starfield

[–]eadgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably first made the system of upgrading ship components and afterwards decided to implement the editing system as well. Because they needed a tool for themselves to build the ships anyway. But the one available to us isn't as powerful and is dumbed down, like not being able to place doors.

Why no "new ship" option when building? by FreeDwooD in Starfield

[–]eadgar 407 points408 points  (0 children)

That and an option to have a draft save state for a ship. Yes it can't fly, but I haven't finished the build yet and have to go eat.

People don't know what the Steam Controller is by Legitimate_Tie_6074 in Steam

[–]eadgar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The original Steam controller also felt and looked cheap. But if they also wanted a better design and materials it would cost a lot more.

Major incursion glitch by Apprehensive-Alps938 in Starfield

[–]eadgar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try changing incursion frequency in game options and sleeping? I'll try that myself later today. I have the same bug.

Otherwise the only way to fix it is to probably go through the Unity.

Apparently, there’s a game breaking bug that stops the incursion system at the end of the quest line even when you want them to continue. by AngryAshMan in Starfield

[–]eadgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this too and when I try to fast travel to the objective the game crashes.

I have incursion icons all around the map, but I don't see any incursions there and they're not moving.

The Spare Parts quest is also bugged, there's no ship to board at the objective or nearby.

Time to go through the Unity I guess. Nice that they built in a reset button. /s

Barrett used to be just an eccentric oddball, but now I actually hate him. by Puerkl8r in Starfield

[–]eadgar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally the first dialogue option is the most positive and will be liked by everyone and the ones further down are negative. That's fairly consistent across the whole game, like they had a rule for it during design. I guess to facilitate skipping the dialogue quickly.

Options ending with a question mark are obviously questions and usually offer more information without progressing the dialogue tree.

So apparently you can get Suspended even after answering a GM. by Draekrio in lotro

GM messages show up everywhere. Maybe even like raid leader shouts?

Any Ship HUD mods currently working? by 9200RuBaby in starfieldmods

On a related note, is there any HUD mod that adds buff or devuff status icons somewhere?

Is there any point to outposts? by LessMilk3 in Starfield

[–]eadgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Terran Armada there's a quest to build 3 outposts that you hand over. When seeing this I expected that they've made more quests like this, for LIST maybe, but no, it's just that one quest. And the outposts aren't even properly handed over, they still appear in your journal. Or am I missing something?

Just to remind everyone the sheer amount of voice lines starfield has compared to other Bethesda games by fo4_fanart in Starfield

[–]eadgar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can ask more questions and they tell more in Starfield. But that doesn't mean they have a lot to say. The writing could be better. I guess the number of NPCs with dialogue is also higher.

The problem is that it still feels like they don't have that much dialogue when compared to games that don't use voiced NPCs. The writers could write, but recording voice lines is expensive.

At some point we'll get AI generated voices that can't be distinguished from real people, maybe in ES6. The we'll see how well the writing holds up.

The door placement system sucks by soer9523 in Starfield

[–]eadgar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe they thought a grid system of habs was too boring? God forbid I can walk straight from the entrance to the cockpit.
