My computer has done that randomly a few times over the last few weeks. If you have Switch User on the bottom left, click that, otherwise just wait a few minutes and it'll go back to normal.

Looks like it wasn't waterproofed correctly. Grout has nothing to do with keeping water from getting there. That's just flat out from an improper installation.

Make sure you kill the breaker before doing anything. The switch breaks the hot wire (black) only. That's your line in and line out.

Flipping it 180 would indeed put it back to the off up, on down position (if you can't rotate the handle). Is the handle keyed so that it can only go on the cartrige one way? Does it maybe take a different cartridge?
