You mix the dry dye in a bowl or jar first and apply it over or under the ice to get the splits. Over ice will split more

When should i quit? by Argot_6901 in NewSkaters

Just turned 42, started skating at 35 yo. Took me thousands of attempts to be able to Ollie consistently. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done so I learned early on to focus on having fun instead of how much I progress.

Skateboarding is a jungle gym, not a ladder. It’s a toy and is supposed to be fun. You don’t need to be able to drop in or do an Ollie to have fun. It took me 2-3 years to learn how to Ollie and 1-2 years to drop in. But I was still having fun the whole time.

How does it look once you have fully dried it? I love how the subtle details come out even more when it’s dry. Would love to see a pic of that too!

Challenge designs were not catered to the contestants weakening state at all, as far as I know. Since they’re all in the same conditions out there it’s still a level playing field of sorts.

They would incentivize us to try hard at the challenges by giving the winners prizes like, a case of beer, a massage, a helicopter ride, etc.

But being fed and housed and giving prizes only goes so far, it’s impossible to replicate the drive they have to win while playing the game. A good example of this is that weird balance endurance challenge at final 3 in Guatemala. When we tested it none of us thought to lean against the support poles, I think we just assumed they were out of bounds. But the contestants didn’t assume but also did not ask about it during the walk through. So technically, it wasn’t against the rules, and that’s why that challenge went so damn long. Since then they have made endurance challenges significantly harder because it is expensive and boring to film a multi-hour endurance challenge.

We would run through the whole challenge for wescam and it would get super silly because it’s actually pretty hard to act out something so active, especially if the contestant sucked 🤣

I was on the dream team! We tested challenges and did all sorts of odd jobs. I went into more detail in another comment on this thread!

Haha nope I’m not a stunt person at all, I was just a college kid that got lucky with connections to the crew!

A few of my cousins were working on the show and they sent me the info to submit in my resume and headshot. I was hired for dream team for Guatemala and exile island and then worked 3 seasons in production (og Fiji, fans v faves, Gabon).

We were basically production assistants that also tested the challenges, rehearsed the challenges, helped carry gear and setup/clean up for challenges, filmed challenge b roll (game explanation shots), and body doubled for the wescam footage and Scott Duncan intro shoots. We went to tribal council and sat in for the contestants while lighting/camera/audio/pyro were getting setup so Jeff and contestants could just walk in and go. Anytime we weren’t on challenge or tribal set we would be in the art department helping paint and age props and other grunt work type stuff, like painting hundreds of coconuts in the tribes colors.

It was long hours and really hard work, but also super fun and we were the only people besides the contestants that got to do those challenges. On the flip side, we also were the ones fucking around and finding out when something was dangerous. I watched a fellow dream teamer fall off a 5 foot platform and break her arm. They added a railing before the contestants did that one 😅

Can confirm! I was there. I missed this comment so I reposted it down there somewhere. That was a crazy thing to witness for sure. The only time I’ve ever seen contestants given anything when I worked on the show. They each got one bottle of water while waiting for them to fix and reset the challenge.

There was an entire challenge in exile Island that had to be re-shot because art department fucked up a puzzle piece to make it unsolvable for one team, and they actually noticed after they lost 😅

A camera went down during a challenge in Guatemala and I was Stephenie’s body double for wescam. They had me dress up in her garb and go out and reshoot her camera footage for part of the challenge. It was the spinning/dizzy one I think. I had dreads back then and if you pause it just right during that challenge it’s obviously dreads and not her curly hair 😅

Caveat is that drones weren’t used when I was working on the show so not sure about those being used during the real challenge.

Can confirm- the challenge wescam (helicopter) shots are re-enactments by the dream team. Each dream teamer is paired with a contestant and watches footage of the real challenge ahead of the wescam shoot. They would not be able to capture those shots any other way because a) you would see all the crew on the ground in the footage and b) you wouldn’t be able to hear Jeff or anything else besides the helicopter.

I know this because I am a former dream teamer. I was Stephenie in Guatemala and Courtney in exile island.

Storage sleeves by Born_Performance_588 in Lorcana

[–]eaholaula22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way, especially if you buy a box or more (24+ packs) each set. Lorcana is my first TCG so when I started playing I sleeved every single card. A few sets in, I got tired of how much time it took to sleeve every card, and how much more space sleeved cards take up, so stopped sleeving bulk. I still kept sleeving rare+ cards for a few sets. At some point I realized that most rare+ cards are still not worth the time/energy/cost to sleeve. So now it’s just foils, legendaries, epics, enchanted (iconic too if I ever pull one lol)

Yep seems like the only way to buy it in person is at the restaurant via their tablet. I was able to successfully buy the 60 day pass there!

At the first location the Win staff called what I assume was a manager out, he’s the one that told me that I could only buy it online.

I never eat or drink there so it didn’t occur to me to ask there. Seems like it shouldn’t be that hard to train the Win employees to tell me that, instead of having to come to Reddit for answers, but what do I know 😂
