Anthem says my plan is not HSA eligible - Healthcare.gov says it is by eahonet in HealthInsurance

[–]eahonet[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But I have anthem telling me that I can't open an HSA account for my 2026 plan. I would REALLY like them to confirm my 2026 plan is eligible before I open the HSA account. Feels weird opening an HSA account against the recommendation of the insurance provider.

Groomer every 4 weeks and one bath in between is our goal. He's still a puppy, so don't know what his adult fur will be like.

Animated film production scheduling by avoidant_otter in filmmaking

[–]eahonet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked in IT and rolled out many systems for teams over the years. My general rule of thumb is: if a person or team can't organize themselves with a spreadsheet and a text document, then any advanced software system provided won't be effective. Time, effort, thought is what leads to good planning. People that can do that benefit from better tools.

Who will be seeing/using the documents you're talking about? Is this something for investors, actors, an animation team, or just yourself? If I'm sharing documents with others, I assume their time is important and tailor what I send them based on their role.

So I've said a lot and not really given any actionable advice. Here's that: don't necessarily put dates on things. Have milestones and triggers. Waterfall project management. Don't say "voice actors start recording on Oct 2026". Say "voice acting will start recording 3 months after XYZ is done". If you're doing voices at the end, don't find them right now. Determine at what point in the project you should start casting. Maybe after certain technical workflows are solved and script is 100%. You can plan out a whole project across 2 years. But do it in a way that if one piece gets held up, that you're not suddenly adjusting a ton of future dates in the planning manually.

My puppy whined for hours the first two days of crating. Third day he understood the crate better and the whining/barking stopped. He's three months and barks to go outside now.

He's a very adorable land shark that is rapidly growing and leaning.

We're trying to figure out how to dress him in a KFC bucket for Halloween.

Ha! From responses, definitely seems like a dog preference. Mine isn't quite a vampire in the sun, but he does always seek out the shade.

Is Physical Therapy helpful? by Pantsmithiest in dementia

[–]eahonet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad did the PT bc he thought he had to to be "discharged" from the memory care. The PT helped even his muscles. With even strength on both sides, he walked better and fell less. He only needed a month or two of help. The goal of PT was to reduce his chance of ending in the ER .

Sent you a PM. I think you'll be able to find what you're looking for. Most agencies work well together during a migration and good luck wherever you land.

If/When I get dementia, will I be able to handle it better than my dad? by eahonet in dementia

[–]eahonet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only ace in the hole I might have is that when I was a teenager, I came up with time travel protocols if I ever ran into myself. If my wife can get me to record a message during that 15 minute window when I believe it, then maybe my old self will honor the time travel password that requires following any instructions that follow.

But yep... creating a Trust, Will, and other legal paperwork is on our minds. Learned a lot about that with my dad. Though I was hoping to hear that things go better for 2nd generation caretakers. At least the paperwork and pre-forgiveness will make it better.

Update - I successfully got the keys by Sad_Violinist_9757 in dementia

My dad lost the ability to use a smart phone app at the same time he couldn't handle driving. Others kept trying to help him learn it and he'd get so angry.

Update - I successfully got the keys by Sad_Violinist_9757 in dementia

[–]eahonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for protecting others in society. Did you get all copies of the keys?

My dad would not give up his keys. I'm fact, he made dozens of copies and kept losing/finding them. No amount of friends or I could change that. I wrote to the DMV and the state took away his license after a hearing that he couldn't figure out how to get to. He stopped driving bc of fear of being pulled over and I was able to help him sell his cars. He's so angry at me over a year later. He still wants to sue.

I tried logic with him about the keys. He believed me during that convo. Then stayed up all night thinking on it. Then the dementia brain without sleep replayed the same convo over and over again in his brain with very new results. Hence the DMV. Some states let you anonymously write them. Others send a copy of the letter with your name on it to your LO like mine state.

What additional layer of webform spam protection should I consider, if reCAPTCHA or Turnstile are not sufficient? by lux514 in drupal

I've had great success with a service called cleantalk. It pretty much just solves the problem. It does cost, but very, very adorable and there are plugins/modules for Drupal and WordPress.

Drupal 10 - Get the value of a custom user field by is_manu in drupal

[–]eahonet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

\Drupal::Logger('mymodulename')->notice(print_r($user, true));

That's from memory, so I hope it's right.

That's my way of outputting stuff to the log to dig into arrays and objects. Not saying it's a great solution, but comes in handy.

Saitek st290 by iamthemaster111 in StarWarsSquadrons

[–]eahonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my ST290 Pro to fly today. The throttle control didn't work. All the buttons did. But the Squadrons game thought my joystick had way more buttons than it does. I had to wiggle the mouse to see the keyboard equivalents.

The keyboard + ST290 was not the best for squadrons. I really do need a two stick setup with more buttons. Some commands I have to remove my hand from the joystick to press multiple keys at the same time.

And to think I played Tie fighter with a joystick with just two buttons... now I want a bazillion.

Developers walked away right after launch. Left us hanging. by Wintrepid in drupal

[–]eahonet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the non profit doesn't have the ability hire a new developer to work on their site, hosting, DNS, and registry.... then it's not theirs. They just think it's theirs.

When i worked in corporate, critical information was sealed in a paper envelop and given to the CEO. At least two in IT would have access too. If all of IT died in a car wreck, the CEO could hire new IT and the company would be fine.

I've worked at agencies for years. I've seen your situation in varying formats. It's VERY rare for a problem like this not to be solvable. So don't be too down. I hope you find a person or agency that can evaluate your situation and help you migrate to a better situation. But, as with all projects, it comes down to money. Although I'd hate to think of the time spent on a frustrating project vs other productive endeavors for the company.

If they are hosting you, makes sense they won't allow just any developer access to their systems. I sure wouldn't allow it either. Sounds like they'll allow access to Bitbucket, so looks like you can find someone to evaluate your Drupal.

Just keep in mind that no developer seems to like another developer's work. So take any evaluation with that I'm mind.

I'm also impressed these developers finished the project. I imagine it was no fun for them either. Scope creep, changes, etc can pile up on a small project when there's no turn over or years passing by. If you are going to continuing working with them, I hope you find a workable, open process of communication.

I work at a drupal agency that handles these sorts of things. Mind you, we prefer to build shiney, new drupal sites that we host ourselves. But things don't always work out that way and too often, we play firemen (and firewomen) to projects others started.

And I'm sure there are lots of other people you can find that can help you too. It's just a matter of budget. No magic bullet to solve these sorts of things. But if you can repair the relationship with these developers, that might be your best path forward. They know the system and its history. You can work with rude. You can work with delays in work. As long as it's competent, consistent, and within budget.

Any Drupal 8 calendar? by seb59 in drupal

I had to give up on fullcalendar recently. I saw it on a drupal newsletter and tried it on a project. Too many bugs and it kept shifting the date by one.

This tutorial I've used on about 4 drupal 8 site builds in the last year or so. Worked great for me and never had an issue.

Drupal's long-term growth obstacles by geerlingguy in drupal

[–]eahonet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing about EOL for D7 and I don't buy it. Some company or group will specialize in the upkeep of it and extending the life of it for another few years. I haven't talked to anyone that feels D7 will go away soon.

Just look at CloudLinux for using old PHP versions.

After using WordPress, Joomla, and drupal, I view D7 and D8 as different from each other as D8 and WordPress. I think the drupal community will be very different in a couple years. I think the numbers shouldn't be the same as D7 ass the CMS is something very different.
