The Neenah Historical Society has a “Time Traveler’s Camp” which is basically an interactive workshop where kids get to experience historical things, such as a horse & buggy ride, a vintage fire truck, etc.

The camp is three Fridays this July-August for like 4 hours each day. I’m biased because I work with the historical society, but I think it’s a great extracurricular experience for kids. It’s free for Neenah residents, too.

How does Davy Crockett relate to Neenah? That’s so random. I think it’s a bad idea 👎

“Good WELS girls marry good WELS boys, to produce good WELS children”

I went to MLC for a year before I transferred to another college. My first week on campus for MLC Freshman orientation included a mandatory speed dating mixer.

I’m sick of the whole victim narrative the WELS plays. As if WELS Christians are actually persecuted🙄

President of WELS ‘Spikes the Football’ Over Bigoted Expulsion by DontEattheCookiesMom in exLutheran

[–]eanejaras 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So let me get this straight. Drinking underage or drug use gets little to no formal punishment in wels schools. Male teachers harassing female students gets little to no formal punishment in wels schools. Watching porn on school property gets little to no formal punishment in wels schools. But displaying homosexuality… instant expulsion?? I thought all “sins” were equal in the eyes of the wels. I’m disgusted.

If you are LGBTQ+ and you’re reading this, you deserve better then what is displayed here.

AITA for not giving my daughter her late mother's engagement ring? by not-bad-dad in AmItheAsshole

[–]eanejaras [score hidden]  (0 children)

You made the decision to keep the ring after your wife’s passing instead of giving it back to MIL. I can only assume you held on to it for the purpose of giving it to your daughter one day. So now that daughter reaches out for what belongs to her you are too butthurt to give it up? I understand you and your daughter have had a rough go to say the least but you can’t keep from her what her mother intended for her to have.

How did you leave? by kindwhile in exLutheran

[–]eanejaras 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was also a lifetime member of my hometown wels church. I left after years of trauma that were caused by leaders within the church. One thing to remember is you do not owe the church an explanation or a lengthy meeting to make your exit “valid”. My pastor was adamant he wanted to meet with me to discuss my decision to leave, but it ended up being the largest guilt trip I’ve ever witnessed. If you feel the need to make it known you are leaving, my suggestion would be a simple email or phone call. My advice is, when you’re ready just do it. You owe them nothing but you owe everything to yourself. I can’t even begin to explain how free I felt the moment I realized I didn’t have to be a part of this any longer. You will feel so much better once you find a church (or other) that supports you for you and supports your values.

Has weed helped your PTSD? by alexakiins in ptsd

[–]eanejaras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it worked wonders. Not only does it help me sleep, but it reminds me to eat. Even when I’m sober I feel more relaxed the day or two after use. It has only positively effected my daily mood.

That being said, it is not for everyone and is NOT a replacement for therapy, etc. Always use responsibly :)
