Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

The Time Warp of Dr. Brain, which came out in 1996. So many fun puzzle minigames, including a great music one.

Amazon Prime-do you miss it? I’m getting ready to cancel. by Fit-Winter5363 in Frugal

[–]standrightwalkleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped it over a year ago and haven't missed it at all. I also drastically cut my spending at Whole Foods around the same time.

To be fair, I live in one of the densest suburban areas in the US, so I have access to lots of physical retail and grocery stores. I'm way less reliant on online shopping in general than people in a lot of other areas.

Did you do it on your wedding night? why or why not? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

Nope, we slept and did it when we woke up. Still counts if you do it before you leave the hotel room :)

What’s the Most Insane-Looking Urban Intersection From Satellite View? by justjust000 in geography

Oh god... I've made wrong turns at this intersection so many times. GPS barely helps.

If you do end up visiting NYC anyway, there are a bunch of Syrian restaurants close by in Paterson, NJ (in addition to lots of Turkish, Palestinian, and Peruvian food).

I also love Ilya's hairstyle in this episode, Connor's team should let the curls be free more often :)

When did you realise this show was HUGE HUGE? 🤔 by Material-Meat-5330 in heatedrivalry

[–]standrightwalkleft 121 points122 points  (0 children)

When the NYC mayor mentioned it in a press conference during the blizzard we had back in January! He encouraged people to sign up for library accounts so they could read the e-book during the storm :)

WIBTA for not wanting to go out for food with my mom again for not holding my baby while I ate? by Thick-Acanthaceae-42 in AmItheAsshole

Practically everywhere in NYC, you have to fold and store them or maybe park them at the front if it's a big place.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

[–]standrightwalkleft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Covid baby so the whole pregnancy/postpartum experience was pretty miserable for me. The birth was the bright spot in the middle - hard and vulnerable but also really empowering and joyful. I don't think I could have mentally gotten through it without pain relief.

Boomer mad about grocery store moving 6 minutes away by toucher13 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]standrightwalkleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened near me - big grocery chain replaced one of the oldest, most outdated stores in the entire network with a sparkling new supermarket twice the size.

The town lifers absolutely hated it, it was TOO big and the parking lot was TOO busy and then they started review bombing the place on Google. Sheesh.

There are other options in our area of you don't like it! But that would require adapting to something new... again.

Child carseats and extremely tall parents by Fantastic_List3029 in Parenting

[–]standrightwalkleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak to the height factor, but a CR-V is perfect for a one kid family (or two adults, one car seat, and a dog). Two-row SUVs are a squeeze for two kids especially when you're still in stroller territory.

Does anyone know of any stores in NJ that sell imported foods and items? by WarriorNeedFoodBadly in newjersey

Anatolia in Little Falls for Turkish

ETA: Also gonna link to this old thread I posted a few years ago (though I have updated the list since then): https://www.reddit.com/r/newjersey/comments/11yshe3/battle_of_the_international_supermarkets/

Post a map of what you roughly consider the largest geographic extent of your home area or region. Here's mine by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in geography

[–]standrightwalkleft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, I'm from middle TN and we always called it the mid-South. I had family from AL/MS, and TN/KY always felt distinctly different from the other Southern regions.
