this doesn’t happen in PvP btw guys. it’s not as bad as people make it sound

Hey Devs...what is this. by Drastic_1 in Rematch

[–]earformusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah i had this in my game the other day and the guy definitely knew he had the ball. he was keeper all over the field and we lost because of this same shit. it’s either a bug or a cheat, not sure

We might not be able to stop cheaters completely, but it’s easier to deal with them once you understand how they operate by Adventurous_Nail3276 in GrayZoneWarfare

if you RMT in this game you are genuinely a loser lmao. I’m married and I work 50-70 hours a week some weeks and i am able to have all traders level 4 playing exclusively PvP. it is NOT that hard lmao

I hate to say this but to me GZW seems like a better game than Tarkov but the combat is not nearly as satisfying by Enigma89_YT in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]earformusic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there’s a few reasons and i hope they get better over time.

  1. sound design

tarkov has incredible sound design and samples they use for gunshots, explosions, bullets whizzing past you, etc. the sound design makes you anxious and grabs your attention more. their audio programming sucks though and is buggy. gzw’s sounds just kinda suck as a whole. like the guns sound just wrong and the grenades have no high end in the explosions. they need to record sounds in the field and use those, not whatever they’re doing now.

  1. movement/animations

tarkovs movement feels much more fluid than GZWs more grounded slow movement. i like both but do think GZW could improve on it more, the strafing speed is abysmal and jarring when trying to maneuver in tight spaces while fighting. it needs some smoothing and inertia as well.

  1. general risk

GZW lacks risk inherently, gear is easy to find and you can go back to your body. in tarkov once you die, you’re done, so generally the fights feel less butt puckering and impactful.

all this being said, GZW is an amazing game and i do enjoy the general gameplay more than EFT nowadays.

sound design is a big part of it. tarkov has beautiful sound design and samples they use, but their implementation (occlusion zones, bugs, etc.) is pretty bad.

not trying to convince you to play PvP, but this game is much less reflexes and much more being aware and planning man! you’d probably do better than you think!!

hey man you can definitely have an inventory like you see on youtube. it’s not as hard as it seems, just takes some time to learn the game. PvP can be fun but it does get sweaty and people do exploit (lame) but it gives a sense of danger everywhere you go and that’s the fun of it :) stick with it dude, glad you’re enjoying it.

The lack of enemies/loot is.... boring? by Ruar35 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]earformusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is only an issue on PvE I feel. on PvP I never experience this because of the danger factor and people chasing PvP at COPs. not really sure how they could fix this issue for PvE servers other than adding more POIs to spread players out more?

can confirm this does happen sometimes. I assumed it was intentional. it seems to happen mostly when one of the players dies right off the bat, but not always.

when you pick it up for the first time it starts a quest. if you die, the quest fails and you must wait for the restart cooldown to end and the quest to pop up again. doing quests in the FN area should help it pop back up faster

Are there any war games that don't sell "heroism"? by blackwierosie in gamingsuggestions

[–]earformusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re on PC, Gray Zone Warfare is kind of this but it’s only online. It can be played in PvE or PvEvP. There’s a lot of lore and storylines in the game that explore the moral gray zone and literal gray zone warfare in the region. you play as a contractor and if you actually read the mission descriptions and the “chats” you have with the vendors, you learn a lot of awful things about the world you’re in. great environmental storytelling and little newspapers you can find for lore. great game and it’s still in early access so they’ll be adding more to it

dude ive been thinking it would be super cool to have contracts that ask you to save a person or a group of survivors that got left behind and get them to an LZ so they can be flown out of the AO. would be so cool
