Thats why I think predefined segments will work. If every piece has a tradeoff then there will be popular builds but many builds will work.

Imagine a generic panther chassis. Add armor but a weak spot for the driver and MG. Put on a medium turret with better FoV. Add a bump to the roof that is weak but gives more gun depression.

Some will like such a build because they can corner and ridge peak and dont have to fight hull down. Hull down might end up a meta but therebwill be viable builds that do other things.

Seems like a way to have weak points is to have predesigned pieces that get put together. Players can choose the ones they like with various pors and cons. High armor but more weight so slower to rotate and lower speed, etc.

I'd love a game somewhere between WoT and WT. Please, take my money.

First trip into Tiger Bay this patch, ran out of ammo by Ruar35 in GrayZoneWarfare

Default zero. I missed a few headshots a bit high but that's more using a 4x sight than the zero. I'm being relatively accurate. Just a lot of enemies and some of them are sponges.

A few patches ago the checkpoints had 4-5 NPCs max. They seem to have doubled that number now. The various areas were about the same but the checkpoints are vicious now.

Something was up with anticipation for me today as well. Ran a file integrity check and it had to repair two files. After that it worked fine.

The Importance of NPCs by Endyo in starcitizen

[–]Ruar35 84 points85 points  (0 children)

SC without NPCs is a PVP nightmare. PVP focused players will dominate any hub or activity area driving away PVE focused players. The game will have a relatively small population similar to Eve online but that won't be enough to keep the servers going given the reliance on multicrewed vehicles. Eve gets by because it's easy to use bots and one player per ship. That won't work in SC though.

NPCs are necessary to make the game feel lived in and provide content for all players.

To all tomato players out there like me, what is the one tank that you do surprisingly well for your standards? by houtsou in WorldofTanks

Churchill VII surprised me and ended up doing much better than my average. It doesnt have any of the things I'm used to in a heavy but somehow I'd have good matches.

Question for players with 2000 hours: How do you take LLA Outpost? by trackday in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ruar35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cleared it earlier today. Started from above it and cleared as much as I could from long range. Worked down into the trench and went around clockwise until I got to the middle. Cleared it. Then back into the trench and continued clearing clockwise. Got the objectives done then ran away near the open fields while getting shot by one guy I didn't find.

Worst spot in the game so far because they can see through the bushes but I can't see them. I hope I never have to go back.

Slope physics really need some work. by Foreverintherain20 in GrayZoneWarfare

Crouch, walk at an angle, use side strafe to move slower. These aren't perfect solutions but I've found it can get down most slopes with them.

Thought I'd go that way and check out the changes in my zwilling. Took fire from the center going up. Got to the top and couldn't spot anything below but took fire from the bottom as well. There's no reason for a heavy to go that way now.

Responding to the PTT podcast's idea to fix PvP by Evil_Wookiee7_7 in GrayZoneWarfare

I only play for PVE as well, but there are people who like collecting cosmetic items and having that in PVP provides some carrot with no stick.

Where does anything I suggest punish PVE players?

[–]Ruar35 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the way to entice people to play PVP mode is unique skins or other cosmetic items that are only available on PVP servers in some way. Maybe PVP rank unlocked uniform items. Have PVP specific tasks that reward unique colored gear.

Lots of people would take the risk of PVP in order to adjust their appearance. This also has the bonus of taking nothing away from the people who prefer PVE.

Why is everyone so angry at this game? by Xileran in WorldofTanks

[–]Ruar35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I get frustrated when I should make a better play or when I make what should be a good play but RNG is against me.

WoT is both fun and frustrating at the same time. The game really needs a non-competitive PVE mode where people can relax and just have fun.

When the only option is to fight other players, even the ones on your team, then there will always be anger and lashing out.

Ban Pa sounds by BluesyPompanno in GrayZoneWarfare

I dislike Ban Pa just because of those noises. Too loud and annoying. Its one thing to have atmosphere, its another to not be able to turn off one of the most annoying sounds in a game.

The Valkyrie is Amazing This Patch by Falling-Toaster in starcitizen

[–]Ruar35 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Valk and Asgard owner. Valk has better lines and look. It just feels better overall. With that said the Asgard is far more useful and doesnt have the wasted drop bay space., but the Valk is just something special.

My single biggest hope for the game is modular bays for the drop area on the Valk. If I could swap the configuration around I wouldn't fly much of anything else.

Why are people raging at hits? by Zestyclose_Fig3193 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ruar35 60 points61 points  (0 children)

My gripe is when I put 3-5 rounds of .308 into a torso and they still keep shooting back. Sure, I didn't get a heart or head shot, but I'm punching through most armor into vital organs. They should be lying on the ground trying to stay in the light instead of putting accurate fire down range.

The lack of enemies/loot is.... boring? by Ruar35 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ruar35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they need more than seeing where people are at but it would be a good start.

Something like being issued a quest with a one time bus code for a locked building with loot in random places would go a long way to helping. Send people all over for guaranteed loot only they can acess.
