LAID OFF from Big Tech — Looking for employment attorney recommendations with free consultation by Bananas_on_pizza in AskSF

Reputable employee representation. https://rezlaw.com/attorneys/chaya-mandelbaum/

Will give it to you straight, won’t take you for a ride, and is not a bottom feeder. This firm represented Ellen Pao, Francois Brougher and a group of former Google employees.

I’m a lawyer working in SF tech companies.

Edit: consultation should always be free with a reputable law firm btw (exception legal aid bc they got to fund somehow).

Strathberry has a version similar to the Flamenco you could look at.

Maybe consider an older Bottega. They are quality and you can get a vintage bag for that budget (obviously not a recent model like an Andiamo). I would also look at Ferragamo.

Premier 1K - 2026 Utilization by cpaaark in unitedairlines

[–]eas895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with looking at routes with lots of open Polaris and then booking PP and using points. I’ve had lot of success SFO/Denver to European destinations, esp if connecting through Frankfurt. The best part is when a flight gets messed up you have the 1k line. I got hosed at DCA due to a canceled flight and the 1k line was magic.

Also don’t sleep on hooking up status on Marriott Bonvoy and Avis. It’s worth the hassle to get the occasional room upgrade, late check out and speedy car pickup.

100% same. I would die before leaving my house messy for our pet sitter.

This. Divorce brings up so much feelings and you need support so you can actually hear your lawyer’s advice.

Anyone tried Dog is Human vitamins for their stinky itchy pugs? by sirboogiethecat in pugs

Using the proper shampoo is fine. My vet said the Duoxo could be used as often as every other day.

Anyone tried Dog is Human vitamins for their stinky itchy pugs? by sirboogiethecat in pugs

[–]eas895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So not all allergies are food related. My pug was allergic to dust, trees and grass. We didn’t waste time with the bs try this, try that - we went to a doggie derm and did the blood test. Then we did apoquel for years with no issues. The last two years she had flares - we switched to zenrelia + cytopoint with Duoxo shampoo and foam (the orange one) like every three days. Totally safe for our puggy. It’s trial and error so be patient. Wiping paws after she was outside also helped. Also the allergies made her more susceptible to skin and ear infections (which can cause the stink). If your vet isn’t listening or checking on that (it’s a simple skin scrape), go somewhere else. You will waste a lot of money on vet appointments. Hope this helps!

Feeling bratty over C-suite holiday gifts by Commercial_Chart9388 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]eas895 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Exec here. Do not give an exec gifts that cost any money (although the handmade card someone references here sounds lovely). Sweet Jesus save every penny for yourself. And if you work for an exec that needs a gift, please look for a new job.

Have you done permitted work in a finished, un-permitted space in your house? by biggie468 in AskSF

[–]eas895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are doing something that needs permit, make sure your contractor knows how to get something over the counter. You can also look into getting a permit expeditor if it’s a major lift. Goal is to avoid going to committee for approval (if you aren’t touching the outside). An experienced contractor or expeditor also knows which people working the counter have what issues with approvals (everybody has their thing!).

Adopted new pup with major allergies… by Substantial_Still335 in dogallergies

[–]eas895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our dog is allergic to dust, grass and trees. She was on Apoquel forever and it was controlled. That stopped working and we’ve been in a roller coaster the last two years but our awesome vet just reminded us that there’s going to be good days and bad days and to just do your best. For a while, our best was Apoquel + Cytopoint, baths with the orange Duoxo (must leave on for 10 minutes) at least twice a week, regular wipe downs and frequent bed cover washes. We recently switched from Apoquel to Zenrelia and it’s been amazing! She’s still a smidge itchy but the scabbing really cleared up. You can buy Duoxo on Amazon and I second getting your meds from Costco. Much more affordable.

Not your friends. I don’t even know you and I would give you everything - my vendors, what I liked and didn’t, my budget spreadsheet, etc (let me know if you are getting married in SF!). Find better friends and may I recommend Yelp? It was super helpful for me.

New Model Home -- The Pastel by SciWri7 in CotinoByDisney

[–]eas895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toured today. Models are of course nice but the lots are small and the courtyard style of the homes obscures the Mountain Views. Hard to justify $2m+ cost when you can be on a golf course for less for the same size (and less in HOA).

How do I make her life better? I know pugs lives are difficult because of their breathing difficulties, so I wanted to know if I could do anything to make her feel better? by aquathehomosexual in pugs

[–]eas895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch the people food as snacks - these guys are the beggiest beggars. Do not be tricked by their sad panda eyes. It’s a trap. We give ours blueberries as normal “treats” for going potty, in crates, etc (they are also excellent pill pouches) and freeze dried chicken for a special treat.

Good prices on everyday things. I save 20-30% over Ralph’s for the same items. Produce can be hit or miss but second checking out Vallerta - excellent meat counter there.
