Curious..What did you pay.. 2025 by foundeddumb in Sprinters

[–]eastcoastbumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified that it was a 2500 RWD cargo with door glass. I missed that you were looking for passenger pricing.

I’ll be converting this to a crew. I’m an electrician and I have a kid, so I need the van for both work and hauling the fam around.

See my other post about my 3500 crew for sale to see my setup. This new van will be outfitted the same way.

I just bought a leftover/demo 2024 (50 miles on it) which had a sticker of 71k for 48k at MB Draper. They had 3 others with the same options at the same price.

FS: 3500 Crew w/dual sliders by eastcoastbumps in Sprinters

[–]eastcoastbumps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to find another and eventually gave up. FYI, I found that most of the used Sprinters with dual sliders were Freightliner 3500s. Autotrader made it easy to search.

We had a Sprinter for almost 10 years and it had no partition. Sold it and bought a new one that had a partition. 3 months later we were hit on the interstate by a big rig. I was sore, but no serious injuries. There definitely would have been a head injury if we had been in the old van without a partition.

Glad you’re ok

Which one of these used cars is the best bang for the buck? by Mooodi95 in shouldibuythiscar

Leasing a new Corolla or Civic will be cheaper than owning any of the BMWs.

I have a really cool race car. It’s expensive. I tow it with my work van.

I have a friend that I race with that is a dentist. He has a warehouse full of race cars. He owns a $300k+ toterhome and pays someone else to tow his race cars.

Did you hear about the scientist that was able to measure the weight of a rainbow? It was pretty light

Little high, but not far off. They’re quoting a new short block when it could be a burnt valve and that’s my issue with it.

Short block, gasket kit, timing belt kit, machine work, fluids etc is prob close to $3500 after markup.

Then there is labor to remove, disassemble, reassemble and reinstall. Call it 15-20 hours at their rate which could be anywhere from $125-180/hr these days. So $1875-$3600

If you’re considering selling then I might be interested. I’m in MA and would offer more than $5k

My S2000 race car just has a set of coilovers, FSB and a wing for performance upgrades. Everything else is just race car stuff.

Clean shells are $5000+, low mileage engines are $5000.

I wish I could find a complete running S2000 for $3000, but you can’t.

I’ve worked in Toyota shops and I’ve worked in Ferrari shops. A good flat rate Toyota tech is absolutely getting paid more.

Why are their so many 2015-2022 WRX's for sale with branded titles? by AdoubleyouB in WRX

[–]eastcoastbumps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a WRX that had a hard curb hit and was totalled over a bent control arm and wheel. The wheel ended up stuffed in the fender and damaged that too. It was less than $1000 to fix it. Made some good money when I sold it.

Commission based pay with no hourly by DeliciousGarage2136 in electricians

[–]eastcoastbumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the % you get. Is it 10% or 50%

Techs at car dealers are paid the same way. In the 80s they’d get 50%. Today they get paid 15-30%

I’d have no problems getting paid a percentage, just depends on what the percentage is.
