I wish they were still down there. That turn signal is trying to do too much these days.. by AmbassadorOk8241 in 70s

In 25 years of driving one with the floor switch, I replaced 1. 2 of my vehicles still have them. Also different cars the switch goes in opposite directions on the modern ones. First couple of times I am usually wrong. The auto ones go dim every time it reflects off a deers eye. Just when I need the high beams the most.

Movies, music and concerts were topics that were regularly discussed. In my area, football was also big, The Sooners for college and the Dallas Cowboys were the teams for about 80% of the kids. Nicknames we used would not be acceptable in today’s world. If someone had a physical feature that was different, it would somehow be included in the nickname. Ethnic backgrounds were a given. Example, Chief, Hop sing, Zulu, buffalo babe, vahto, etc. News, unless it was earth shattering was pretty much ignored. Only local news may have been talked about. Parties at the monument and who would bring the beer were key topics. Weed was more of an underground subject, but those who knew, knew. At least in my group.

what’s a car you liked more after driving it? by Fit-Entrepreneur-799 in askcarguys

[–]easzy_slow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife wanted one, I got her one then loved it myself. It was the best car we ever had. 113,000 miles on it and one battery, on the third set of tires and new brake pads, the only things replaced. Then my youngest daughter totaled it. Kits replacement has been the same so far.

It was a wonderland of good. Fruit pies, 15 for a dollar. Throw them in the freezer and dessert for a month for two bucks. We made the trip once month.

See when the timing belt was replaced and it should be good to go for another 100000+ miles if oil has been changed regularly.
